Edit: The OP edited the thread a little while ago. Looks like the numbers changed, although don't know what his source is. :
Artemis updated the thread. They are using CCB caliper weights, since they are the same calipers and oem weights for M rotors in 400x36/380x30 sizes.

Yes, I knew that regarding the calipers. What's unclear is where they got the weights for the rotors. I don't see anything indicating they got those numbers from a technical doc or otherwise. So the question remains...

So, if you put all the M Performance carbon fiber parts on the M2C...
  1. You'll have a car that's a little lighter.
  2. You'll have a bank account that's a lot lighter.
  3. You'll have all the 5-year-olds in town thinking you drive a Hot Wheels car.
Really?

And for some of us, you'll also have car that's a lot faster (with simple 10-min flash tune) Well, you don't need M performance parts for this but it's true in general for M2C. If you try really hard with those CF parts, lithium battery, you may get close to OG M2 weight level and have M4 ZCP or CS power figures safely. As you said, it would mean spending at least M3/M4 money though.

2019 Porsche 991 911 GTS ($120K)

MT: 3,197 lb
PDK: 3,241 lb

2019 BMW M2C (~$60K)

MT: 3,600 lb (403 lbs heavier)
PDK: 3,655 lb (414 lbs heavier)

Consider this. I'm fairly certain the take rate for the sunroof hits 25%-33%. Which means these M2C numbers include the sunroof weight according to US requirements. The M2C is a larger car, and half the price of what could be considered the best sports car on earth (aka any 911).

I still believe the M2C is a winner and an absolute steal for the money.

Unless there's a new type of flash tune I haven't seen, I was only talking about the carbon fiber parts.

But your point about spending your money where it really counts is a good one.

So this plate would describe both what you've got - and what you want? I'll bet you'd still sneak out of her garage at 5 a.m., so the neighbors wouldn't see you.

I bet it’s more than that.
perhaps... I've seen aftermarket for 1300 plus install... obviously BMW would make it as expensive as people would be willing to pay.
1500 is a hopeful guess not an educated prediction

I'm sure it'll be great to drive (heck, I might even buy one), and still be much more fun than any of its competition, but knowing BMW could have made it better still sucks. The fact that this car has the roughly the same weight of the E92 M3 - a car that was released 10 years ago and is bigger than the M2 - is really disappointing.

What makes me really sad is that with each release we're nearing the end of ICE performance cars. We won't have many more do-overs after this. On top of that, this car has the perfect size for me. I'm sure the next M2 will be bigger, which is not a good thing IMO.
Bang on! Literally what I posted in another thread a month ago

F 'em M snobs, man. Why do people do self-hating things to meet stupid standards set forth by strangers that we don't like? This happens a lot in our society.

Going to be funny when the M2 Competition wipes its ass with the Civic M2 in reviews. It doesn't stand a chance around the track. BMW underrated performance numbers give little M2 owners false hope.

Don't tell me - tell someone who cares.

Or it's slightly lighter than the M4 if you think they factored in the sunroof with the M2c weight and the heavier brakes. : I gave up trying to figure it all out, waiting for it to actually be weighed and to see some reviews.

In Europe and UK the brakes are optional and the M2 is 10kg lighter than M4. So something its up for sure. Hoepfully a good sign the brakes are included in the $4400(8% increase). Canada got a 9% increase with brakes included(also adapt led).

I wonder what wheels are included in this weight spec. 788M would be the assumption (if standard), but who knows.
soon we will pay more for less options aka porsche

No, I totally agree with you - I couldn't care less what others think.
I've been saying all along that mirrors, faux "power domes", and an S in front of an engine nomenclature are not what defines an M car.
Absolutely F the M-snobs, they're idiots for thinking those things define what an M car is.

In all reality, I would rather the car have kept the N55 and upgraded it.
Look at the Dinan Stage 3 Kit as a good example. And that kit is only about $6k.

Upgrade the FMIC, more effective turbo, better oil cooling, and a good tune and you've got a car faster than the M2C and lighter.
The S55 is not the end-all-be-all.

If it weren't for the fact that I want to spec a new car so I can do an ED next year, I'd rather buy an '18 M2 and Dinan it out for the same price.
