Generally these engines are really tough, they can make 550whp all day long and not break a sweat, there are guys on here like Edios that are making 700whp+ without issue. Then there are guys like ZM2 beating the crap out of their m2 on track making 480 whp with Bm3 stage 2+ multi map, and he is pushing his car to limp mode coolant and oil temps lap after lap. So any OTS maps will be fine because the engine can take alot more. That being said the more critical thing to do is data log and ensure those logs look healthy. If they do, then the car has no problem running that OTS map. That is the general bench mark, not horse power. Because you can be making 5 whp more than stock on a crap tune and the car will blow up faster than a car making 700whp on a perfect tune. I've seen this happen when a guy got a CEL, cleared it, and continued to push the car - and he didn't data log at all.

Just purchased a BM3 license, prepare for incoming questions

Actually, I think stage 1 makes less power than the m2 does stock. There were dyno graphs proving this. Response might be better if you selected the correct octane rating for your car so it's no longer pulling timing, but peak hp is lower iirc.

I see, ok in that case you'll have to wait until you get the mods before switching to stage 2 or stage 2+. In the mean time if you feel an improvement on stage 1 then you can stick with that, maybe there are changes to make it output more power than stock. But the last time I saw a dyno chart stage 1 made less power than the stock m2 tune.

Yup, you'd just buy a new map which is about $50.

Will there be any OTS map I could use with a stage one turbo on BM3 +- HPFP upgrade or just go custom?

ZM2 uses a stage2+ multi map on his car, and he has a stage 1 turbo.

Personally I'd get a custom tune.

BM3 stage 2+ maps are meant for stock and upgraded turbo, with upgraded HPFP. it was tested on pure stage 2 turbo.

The latest OTS Multimap was dialed back slightly for the stock turbo guys.

Altho, I sent some logs to Halim and he sent me a new Multimap version with a little more boost for my TTE460.

So what are BM3 claiming for HPFP stock turbo 2+ map?

Keep getting conflicting info that octane runs out and HPFP on stock turbo doesn't do anything!

When you do logs for custom tunes it has to be TC off? I'm scared shirtless of doing this!
I tried TC off on a skid pan, yes provoking the car but is scary when you're not Nige Mansel.

You have to go TC off to do data logs as well, otherwise any wheel spin will cause TC to pull power and close the throttle body. This messes up the log.

Doing a pull in a straight line will be fine, the car isn't going to go all squirmy.

General PSA: If you’re not comfortable turning TC (not stability control) off then adding power via tuning only to have TC limiting things doesn’t really make sense.

Strong disagree on that one, I have a lot of fun in sport + but it's saved me twice with intervention when I've run out of talent.
Too many YT videos of TC off write offs for me.

I've absolutely enjoyed stage two above stock running sport+.

How come 'factory' is in the title of this thread?is it to make people think it's vetted by BMW and risk free? Seems misleading is all.

Thanks for the screenshot photos btw I missed them somehow.

There's no way to doo stage 2+ (with the hpfp upgrade) but select the 91 (95RON) map so that you can then use 93(98RON) fuel for safety buffer?

Or is it deemed not worthwhile to develop such a map for 91/95 by protuningfreaks?

Wonder to get BM3 this black friday sale, want to try some features that just aren't coming to MHD but worried about BM3 stressing the HPFP more and that I might need to upgrade it.

Thanks.
