I’m fully stock (2018 LCI 25k miles) and my chargepipe blew too. Changing the chargepipe was on my preventative to do list and should have done it before it popped. I had to limp an hr all the way back home.

Happy with the ER charge pipe I have now. Totally recommend doing this sooner rather than later.

I’m debating between BM3 and MHD for the tune I’ll inevitably get. I have experience with using MHD from my N54 135i and I was very happy with it. However it seems like BM3 is more popular with the M2 community. Which would you guys recommend for an N55 on 91 ACN?

Definitely BM3 if you have bad fuel. BM3 offers stage 1/2 91acn tunes where as I don’t believe MHD does. I was told they only have regular 91 ots files. But I have no experience

I'd say MHD is more conservative with the OTS tunes, and will likely be more consistent, but BM3 will make more power.

I think I’d feel better with a more conservative tune than more power with the shitty fuel we have here. Is the difference significant?

Well, on the basic maps likely not - if you wanted Stage 2 plus for a HPFP, MHD does have them, but it's believed they aren't aggressive, so it could be more than the regular handful of HP.

F87source Had MHD and went to BM3, he can give you feed back on both, as can widetyres

MHD provides a 91acn ots file?
Naturally a 91acn file will be more conservative than any regular 91 tune and likely run smoother as a result of no timing pull. That was my case with my local fuel

MHD is more conservative up top, runs a more conservative timing curve and fuel pressure. They are very similar overall, but I don't think people with poor fuel quality can go wrong with MHD

I beg to differ

It made 301whp on the dyno lol, FBO 435i xDrive.

This was off another members friend's 435i running MHD stage 2 91.

MHDs maps are based off EU fuel.

BM3 is based of NA fuel, which is why they have a "Arizona/California/Nevada" fuel map.

I prefer bootmod3.

-PTF creates their own maps, while MHD sources them from third-party tuners. Personally, I believe in-house developed maps are better and can be upgraded more easily, + you get better support when you are talking to the people who created the map.

-The PTF team are known figures in tuning, tracing back to custom work since 2008 with Cobb. Halim is probably the most famous BMW tuner now. Those new to the scene should check out Dzenno's (PTF owner) contributions to BMW tuning back in the day

-PTF has its own Dyno, electronic part assembly, and map editor. MHD relies on external sources for these services.

This is just a car in poor shape - it's running literally no timing. NO ACN tune is going to help that.

I've seen the MHD Stage 1 with 315whp - the M2 doesn't even have that version, I believe it's Stage 2 and 2+

+100

People don't know all this.

Halim also runs his own company that tunes supercars as well.

With enough demand, PTF will make a OTS for almost anything or a different map of required.

If your OTS map isn't running correctly, email their support and they'll revise it free of charge. BM3 use to not have OTS maps, and every map was tailored and handmade to work with your car during their beta.

Same thing with their WiFi adapter or flexfuel kit.

It's not in poor shape, it's literally our gas lmao.

You run ACN91 and it cleared right up, I've switched a few people from MHD to BM3 and they saw a massive difference.

Every car that went on the dyno that ran MHD was the same story.

A 2014 335i xDrive FBO put down 330WHP on the same MHD map, only difference was this one had a 8AT while the 435i had a 6MT, and the 335i was on a dynojet while the 435i was on a dynocom which I believe was calibrated to be the same as a mustang dyno, I put down 433AWHP on that same dyno on 91 oct, 340i.

Benefits with MHD only appear when you step into custom tuning. plus manual cars would gain more benefits from it than DCT would.
If your plan is just to run OTS maps, BM3 ftw. Its log viewing system is the best IMO. Also, its license is transferable. Minimize the cost of switching.

My guy, I'm not trying to be a jerk - but it's clear there is a plug/coil issue with that car. MHD has a less agressive timing curve than BM3, and runless less boost up top, and requests less fuel.

You showed me a log of a car literally missing every single timing target at every single RPM -no ACN tune is going to fix that. You can check the tunes and logs yourself

Compare these logs here MHDSTG2+ (what I suspect 93 and not 91) an the BM3 91 and BM3 S2 ACN

All the BM3's logs target more fuel pressure and the 91 Map on BM3 has a more timing than a 93 map on MHD. The Stage 2 on MHD is basically near a 91 tune on MHD

The 91 tune on MHD is less aggressive than this.

I agree - they are better maps, but MHD is more conservative. I run MHD, but my map is entirely custom.

Before choosing bm3 or mhd, you got to asked yourself, are you planning to custom tune your car?if yes then choose your future tuner before buying a platform. Because tuners prefer to work with one.
If you’re running OTS maps, I would recommend bm3.

Dude it's not the car, it has brand new plugs and coils, EVERY car in NS that runs MHD has the same issue with 91, I just showed you an example of one car, multiple others have the same exact issue, and dyno'd low as well, and logs were extremely similar.

If you have shit fuel, run BM3.

If you have access to good fuel, either or works.

Here's another 335i xdrive, using MHD stage 2+ 91

https://datazap.me/u/chaungo/mo-mhd-...23-24-25-26-27

I will bet you money, that you take any car off the streets here, and shove a MHD stage 2 91 on it, and it will run exactly the same negative timing logs.

My custom tuner for my big turbo MK7R said that our fuel here is the worst that he’s ever seen
