M Performance exhaust condensed water

Hey guys, just read in the German Forum that some guys got their M Perfmance exhaust changed for free to the new model because the old one tends to produce much condensed water mainly when run with opened flaps because of reduced exhaust pressure the air is not hot enough and is condensing in the exhaust...

Has anybody of you experienced this and did anybody get the new exhaust? Unheard there must be a little hole on the bottom to let the water get out...

The 'new' one just has the boot button. Nothing else has changed.

Vibration is known. Didn't hear yet about condensation.

This thread indicates that BMW have incorporated a hole now into the MPE, apparently for this exact reason.

I know about the red button, people that got the exhaust changed for the new one all left their old electronic inside the meaning new exhaust with old electronic to avoid this special button nobody Seing the picture makes me think about changing to the new one, this looks no good to my eyes with that black exhaust dirt running over the stainless steel...

Can't you just put a plug in it and empty it from time to time?

Have to check mine later today.

So is the new one louder or the same as the old one? Ordering my M2 tomorrow. My friend has the 1st gen MPE with a DP and it sounds amazing!

Can we please put an end to all this "new one" talk.
There is no such things as a new MPE, the MPE was withdrawn from the EU market for 4 months in order to homologate the red button - that's it. There are zero design changes, the complete exhaust system is exactly the same.

I just had a new MPE installed as my first one had a pin hole at the seam on one of the pipes just before the tips. The new one doesn't have a drain hole on the can.

Yes it does. If you don't have a drain hole then you have pre-red button version.

Oh, so the drain hole comes with the red bottom (2nd gen). Then I guess they replaced my original with original (gen 1). I guess they still have original exhausts (without drain plug) in inventory for cases like mine, warranty.

Is this normal? I do see a circle of what looks like water under the rear end of my car near the exhaust (MPE) in my parking space all the time. I always open the flaps when I turn the car on and drive if that matters....

oh I don't have that little red dot inside my trunk.
