Oiling cold air intake, yes or no?

Hi all,

As the title suggests; should you oil up your cold air intake filter? I've got one from MTS Performance installed, but never oiled it up/in. Should I, and if so, why?

Thank you all.

Best,

Best,
It actually depends on your filter media. If you intake filter media is a dry type then you use it dry, and wash it if it is permissible (if the filter supports that) and when it is necessary (when it is dirty).

If your filter media calls for oiling you must reoil the filter, because the oil helps trap dust particles.

Thanks for the replies, on the MTS Performance website it doesn't say it should be oiled up, nor did the manual. I guess I'm good then.
