Best knock-off M Performance exhaust tips?

At some point I'll find a great deal on a used M Performance exhaust, but until that time I have to do something about these tiny polished exhaust tips. I think BMW has priced their OEM tips past the point that any reasonable human would pay, so I'm looking at knock-off's as a band-aid.

If you've found a great set at a great price, please let me know.

If you've found a terrible set at a great price, let me know that too, just so I can avoid them.

Pix help.

Thanks in advance!

I quite like the look of the brushed ones, and the pricing is good too.

I went with these for my car: https://kemir.en.alibaba.com/product...4f247bdastZhoy, and they've lasted well so far for just over a year. Here are some photos of them installed:

They look like the genuine M Performance tips, and they've fooled most people as well. In the photos above, I didn't have the M Performance carbon diffuser fitted, but have since done that. The clear coat on the tips is slightly different, which is a shame, but it's so close that I think even genuine parts might have that much variability.

For reference, for the stock exhaust, I ordered:
  • 70mm inlet
  • 105mm length
  • Glossy Carbon Fiber
  • Abrasive Blasted Stainless Steel
  • BMW M Logo
You'll probably need a different length & inlet diameter for the MPE if you have that. I personally would strongly advise against the MPE. Most owners have issues with drone, cold start resonance / rattle, and Bluetooth. The stock exhaust sounds great with a down-pipe (Sport Cat or Catless), and is bordering on too loud with a tune. If you're set on changing the exhaust, I believe Remus is widely thought to be the best sounding vs price point.

Oh, and I think I paid around $250 for 4 and had them in mind hands within a week.

Thanks guys, I've ordered a couple of sets from a couple of different places. Once they come in I'll compare and send the ones I don't like back, and update the thread.

Just a quick update on this. After looking at exhaust tips ad nauseam I've decided that the ones I like best are the Remus 102mm carbon angled tips. Unfortunately there are no knock-off's available, so I had to choose some similar Akrapovic knock-off's.

I'll update when they come in.

I also installed a set of these tips. 70MM inlet, 92MM Outlet 105MM length. I like the way the stainless mesh inside works with my Alpine White M2c

This is the best place I've found for knock-off tips. They have very good quality from all I've read, and so many choices. Most of their tips are made to your specs, and under $300 shipped.

You're gonna put fake Akraprovic tips on an M Performance exhaust?

No, no, not at all, I'm trying to see the sizing and shape I want for the stock exhaust. The tips won't have any logo.

I just put on M4 slanted tips, not a fan of the weird sleeve over tip look. Would be too much CF with the MP diffuser anyway

Thats a good question.

I take them off for track days. Otherwise they would probably melt...

With those, can you see the ends of the exhaust pipes on the inside of the tips? That's one thing that annoyed me about those types of tips.

It's too bad those tips are so tiny. If they were 98mm or larger I'd have a set myself.

Indeed.

Could be like one of thoee diesel boys where you can fit your entire head in the exhaust tip

I just want them balanced with the car. I think the stock tips are such a let-down, but the Remus 98mm's are perfect (in silver). If I'm getting black though, I'd need them a tiny bit larger (I think 102 is as big as will fit unless you're going full custom).

A pic of my 98mm's vs the stock tips.
