Car seat

I have to use my M2 for occasional toddler transportation. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good car seat? I am trying to get the most possible legroom for the front passenger.

Subscribing. I have not picked mine up yet but I have two toddlers. I'm trying the Gracos Affix Booster and the Britax Roundabout. But won't know fitment until the end of the month.

How old and how much do kids weigh? In Canada over 40lbs kids can use a booster as opposed to full car seat. I use this Clek booster because it's black like my interior (M3) and clean looking. It also uses anchor points just pop it in kids wear regular seat belts and go. The bottom of it is fabric but I still slide a blanket under to protect seats.

Still rearward facing. Under 20 lbs. just looking for something that doesn't take a ton of space.

Does it exist? We have the recaro racer convertible. Doesn't look like it will fit rear facing in the M2 without the front seat all the way forward. One of those Klek's might be better.

Anything rear facing will not really work in a 2 series. My wife is 5'3" and with my rear facing car seat behind her she doesn't have enough leg room to sit.

I have 2 seats in mine:

This one I can put in and remove in 30 seconds:
https://www.britax.com.au/car-seats/...d-hi-liner-sg/

This one stays in: https://www.britax.com.au/car-seats/...nd-maxi-guard/

The Maxi Guard is quite a bit seat and I can raise the height up to the roof and it fits a 9 year old in it with room to spare..

Front seats are in normal position for 5'8" driver...

Lots of opinions here. But you need to actually try one out to see.

I had a rear facing car seat in my '97 M3 without a problem. The M2 is basically the same sized car so it will fit.

You are right that you will need to move the front seat farther forward to have enough room for the rear facing car seat but also if you have older kids in the back you will have to do the same thing.

You have to sacrifice a little comfort while you have the kid in the rear facing seat but it will pass.

We use the peg prego seat but I would only put it in the M2 as a joke to take a picture

I used DIONO products: they are a less wide as they are made with EURO specs.
Fits perfect in any German cars.

I still use the DIONO booster for my son in the M2 and I get lots of appreciate for bringing him to car meets.

I'm putting one in mine, but it will be front facing. Doubt the current rear facing one would fit.

Sometimes with my 3 year old in the back I can stand in the back and get him sorted if need be..

Usually he gets in himself and its easy to fasten..

It's the support leg/foot that goes to the footwell.

The seat swivels and can go front or rear facing but in the M2 it won't swivel in situ and I wouldn't fancy trying to get my daughter in there rear facing without potential injuries to both of us!

rear facing car seats in a coupe are not a good idea. not only will you have minimal leg room in the front, the bigger issue is getting them in the damn seat. you'll need a chiropractor on call lol. just get an M3

best convertible car seat

I think you should try graco all in one convertible car seat. That is the best option for you even if you want to keep it on the front seat. 5 point harness booster seat with removable back

Update to my last post.. Had a Recaro Racer and now have a Klek Fllo. Recommend the Klek all the way. Very upright and slim. Maximizes legroom and seat area beside.

I’ve got a front facing Peg Perego in the back and it fits great. My 2.5yr old daughter LOVES driving in the M2 and access to the seat is surprisingly good.

I have a Graco all in one, front facing. Had a Nuna when the kid was rear facing. No way it could have fit. Well, maybe it could have, we did fit it in a friend’s 911 GTS, but that was really awkward.

If anybody has a rear facing car seat in, i’d Like to see a pic of it.

Maybe check out 2addicts also.

I have a Maxi Cosi 2Way base (has a leg like the one on the photo) and the matching Pebble Plus rear facing seat.

Not had it in the car yet as it is just really a backup as the boy has the privilege of being driven about in my Wife's Macan normally.

It looks like there will be very little front leg room left once it's in. It is the rear facing seat with the high back that really forces the seat forward but I am hoping one we switch to the forward facing seat (which can still face backwards) it will free up leg room.

Not sure if you get Maxi Cosi in the US but it is one of the bigger brands in the U.K.
