Carbon fiber & alcantara interior trim option

Anyone have this interior option on their m2? What does it come with? Is it worth it? I've seen it in the sticker of a little over $1000. Can someone post pictures? Thx!

There are quite a few threads under the 'Cosmetic Mods' subheading.

Carbon kits includes - Gear Selector, Gear Selector Surrounding and Hand Brake.

Above parts I am sure of because I ordered and already got.

I don't know about Alcantara.

Hope it helps.

I got alcantara kit. it replaces the area above the glove box with black alcantara (that says m performance in large white lettering) and the left side vent with a piece that has a tiny bit of alcantara on it. I can't find any other differences. (the kit says door handles but those were carbon to begin with for the m2, so maybe this is the same kit from the m235i?)

In my opinion the gearshift carbon kit is a must. I didn't originally get it and realized the cheap looking silver plastic trim around the gear shift, on the gearshift, and on the e-brake handle didn't match the rest of the interior.

The m performance logo on the dash is the older (better looking) font? With the new m perf kit for the m2 the logo has changed to some horrible 1980s style font face.

Not sure if you intend to have the alcantara wheel it might mismatch to the dash.

I found the kit here:

Did you already install it on yours? If so, what was the difficulty level? Looks like some quality plastic pry tools and a small screwdriver would be all that is needed just by looking at the pictures.

Here's a DIY posted by IND: http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1274653

Took me about 10-15min.
  • Actual DCT baseplate - very easy. Recommend getting some putty spreader cards.
  • The "sticker"/outermost shell with the gear position graphics. This was the biggest pain. The IND DIY says to use a pry tool... don't bother. I used some nylon thread to remove this (WAY easier and faster with the Nylon thread).
  • You'll need a T8 Torx bit for the actual small screw, no flatheads or phillips head.
  • for the ebrake, push the actual button down with your thumb while pulling the original leather grip handle out towards the radio.

Thanks! Definitely gives the interior a more finished look.

In the M2 yes carbon is standard in the areas you described.
