I wonder if the list available is complete....and that perhaps they have to examine the vehicles physically. Mine has been sitting at the VPC for several days now, but i'm currently not on the list.
You sure about the number? From my count it looks correct. 54 entries for the each of the first 3 columns, 40 entries in the last column equals 202.

Or did I count incorrectly?

I'm at the tail end of the M4 production as my VIN is not on the list. But I'm only like 5 ticks away so if the list isn't complete, my car still may be on it.

PS I have the PDF of the VIN list but I don't know how to upload a PDF. It's the same as what was posted, just big enough to read.

He saw the same list that is posted here, and mine is not on that list. But he ran the VIN in their computer and it was in the history report there.

So if I got the car already, that would mean nothing's wrong? I got my M4 last week and was wondering if mine was affected, whether I had to take it in for a service and get a loaner etc.

I had the opportunity to see the German Announcement from BMW to the dealers and found it interesting that BMW stated that the dealers could release a car to the customer, if it had already been registered with the German Traffic Authorities. They also stated that there was no need to recall a vehicle if it had been already released.

That would indicate to me that the issue with the differential/drivetrain cannot be that serious, but makes it even more puzzling as to why they are not releasing the non-registered vehicles and no replacement parts are available...
Thanks for posting. Your post makes me even more angry with BMW then I already am

Well crap. My VIN is on that list, but when I dropped it off today for the break-in service, there were no open recalls/campaigns for it.

Perhaps it was caught/dealt with at the VPC prior to delivery as baconbrain suggested?

Anyway - the car is ready to be picked up now, so I guess I'll just wait and see what happens next. I'd much rather have it now, and schedule service when parts/procedures are ready, than have the dealership sit on it for a few weeks with me in a loaner.

Yea that really sucks. I thought for sure you had already taken re-delivery of yours by now. With what you are saying here, I'm starting to think there might be several Stop Ship campaigns going on but we only know about the rear differential one. Since my VIN is not on the list for the diff issue but my CA definitely confirmed that my car is being held waiting for parts for something to be replaced. Yours and my cars might held for the same issue.

I normally don't trust what he says very much but this time I know he is not bs'ing me because I have ED related body damage that I didn't tell him about but he knew about it from talking to VPC and reported to me that it has been repaired and that was not the hold up.

I was going to post my story...

but it seems like Master Yoda, AchtungE30, and a whole host of others already told my story verbatim.

Was going to take delivery of my F80 M3 on Monday. Had reserved tickets to Neuschwanstein Castle, Hotels in Munich, Salzburg, Baden-Baden, and Lucerne. Now stuck pondering the three "not so good" options ...

That said, I'm honestly trying hard NOT to dump my anger on either my Sales Associate or the BMWNA agent I'm speaking to as it's not personally their fault. They're trying to get me extra compensation as we speak.

Anybody get anything extra in addition to the three "not so good" options?
Much Thanks in advance...

My Ca cannot locate this document internally and the ED regional rep for East Coast is saying that there is an actual list of customers affected instead of just the VINs. The bimmerfest guys are either hesitant to give me further info about how my CA can locate this document or think I am some sort of noob.

I am going to contact genius/ED dept tomorrow and speak to a VP.

Ok. So i called BMW Genius and they told me that this list could possibly be on cars that are already in the North American warranty system. ED cars are not in there. They are digging around for me and will call me back with any news they can come up with.

My VIN is on the list, and we just arrived in South Carolina for PCD tomorrow. So far, the only info I have from BMW is confirmation that my VIN is affected, but they have no plan or advice on how to go forward, other than to show up at the Performance Center in the morning and go from there.

My vin is also on the list and I am scheduled for PCD next week. My dealer hasn't given me any info yet. I am staying tuned to see what happens with you.

If nothing else, you can show up and take your frustration out on one of their cars on the PC track.
