How much longer is the current M2 in production for?

May jump to M2 comp when my M3 lease is up- kind of want a smaller car, but are we going to see an updated model real soon?

2021 is the last year of the F87 M2 versions.

Next-generation M2 is not coming until 2023.

2 year gap hey, had overlooked that. M2C late models might hold value well until final test cars start to show for the G87.

Maybe but that hasn't been true of the m3.

I'm curious to see how BMW fans will react to the ZF8 in the G87. While I think it's a great transmission, the one I had was frustratingly slow at manual shifting. I prefer a stick but many prefer auto for the track and traffic. I think that the DCT will be missed.

I think DCT will be missed as well. I would not preorder or put a deposit on a G87 without seeing reviews or a test drive.

The reviews are going to say "the auto is fine, but who cares about that, you should get the manual instead!"

This way the reviewer doesn't lose their car guy cred and they don't have to spend any mental energy reviewing the auto because the previous statement lets them ignore it, instead of review it.

I can understand not choosing the 6MT, but it's soooooo damn easy in this car, it's not far off from the DCT.

I chose the DCT but if it was between the MT and the zf auto I might as well get a MT while I still can. Unsure if I'll be in the market though for a GXX anything.

Hopefully the e90 m3 is worthy of keeping and I like the current m2 as is.
