M performance exhaust: drone ?

Looking into getting the mpe, from what I've heard it's overall a great exhaust but worries about the supposed "drone" around 2800-3200 rpm, anyone on here that has the mpe how does it sound and how's the drone?

For me the drone has gotten less over time, now i don't notice it anymore

Its prob worse if you have Manual

But after i got the car tuned, it has faded to not being an issue anymore

I've had the MPE since new (2016) and I don't recommend it. It sounds good, but does drone at 2800-3200 and has induced various rattles and hums over the years. I didn't pay for it, so I'm not out the $$$, but if you are considering the purchase, I'd use your money somewhere else.

When your first got it how bad was it? I plan on keeping the rest stock (no tune or downpipe)

My MPE was port installed. I have zero drone and zero rattles. I love the sound and would definitely buy it again.

Never had stock exhaust on the car or stock DP, so can't comment on that. Here is a video pre-tune (I have MPE and FS Sport Cat at this stage)

Now have 93 stg2 and it is an absolute beast...does drone in 6th on hwy when going 120...other than that it's good. VERY loud though!! Neighbors be like, WTF Bro?!?

I think many will agree that MPE drone for whatever reason is so much worse for 6MT.. it seems to be better on sport+ but that could just be a feeling. If you have 20+ min daily commute on the highway, I can't in good conscience recommend it.

With that said, at WOT, IMO it's the best sounding. To me, it has just the right amount of throatiness and sounds better than Akropovic, Remus, etc...

I have a 18 6MT with MPE exhaust. It drones at 3000 but not that bad. I just drive my car above the drone RPM and its all good.

6MT and have drone. It came with the car but not sure I can recommend it if you do long highway drives. It does sound great day to day but 3 hrs at 80mph is miserable.

Ive a FS downpipe and MPE, disabling ASD has reduced the Drone significantly.

I get a lot of drone in mine.. but i'm running MPE + catless DP. Mine is also a DCT so it's less than MT from what i've heard (manual cruises at 3k rpm while DCT sits at about 2600-2700 rght below the drone range_

Yes, the drone is present at freeway speeds in 6th gear with the flaps closed. I don't mind, but it may turn off some passengers or prospective buyers.

I have a 6MT with MPE. The drone exists cruising in 6th gear on the freeway at 80mph. Easy solution is to just run in 5th gear. Bit lower gas milage, but the drone goes away completely.

I know sound is subjective - but from what I've read here on the forums, some have experienced no drone with the MPE, could it be down to the install where the pipe was cut?
