Question Your preferred personal Pre Delivery Inspection

Hey all,

I would like your opinion on what I should be looking for when I collect my M2C.
I know the dealership has folks that will do a PDI, but what about my own inspection of the car - and of their PDI work/thoroughness???

All input appreciated!

Look for dings, scratches and any other damage. That's about it, there's nothing else to look for, even if the car has issues, your recourse is limited.

...and two more: Drill holes in the front bumper for the license plate holder, and removal of the shipping blocks in the springs!

Yeah don't buy it if they drilled holes.

Thank you guys.
I am adamant about not having home drilled in my car's front bumper.

I will check for the suspension shipping blocks. Good idea!

Let me know if you think of anything else.

Check the front wheels for cosmetic damage due to stones getting stuck between the caliper and rim if the car has the big brakes!

Here is the most important thing: tell your SA that no one drives it outside of moving from the transport truck, and that you do not want any of the protective material removed before you inspect the car. Trust me, this will cut down on the potential worry/damage and simplifies the inspection.

I have heard other people recommend this, but with the bubbles, wrinkles, etc in the shipping film, you might never spot a dent or ding. Aren't you concerned about that sort of thing?

I have it delivered as such, remove the film, and then reinspect before driving off.

Ah, OK, that is good.

A lot of folks are driving off the lot with everything still on, and at that point I think you'd end up "owning" any damage under the film.
