Mine sounds timid. It's almost embarrassing for an M so I don't use it unless I absolutely need to.

My first day with my M2... literally within 2 hours of picking it up... I was turning left and a moron in a minivan was turning right opposite me. Two lanes to turn into, one for each of us and both definitely traffic lanes (no parking lane). Sure enough, my assumption was correct and the idiot turned into the far lane (my lane). Luckily I had hung back just in case |

This one. I have a different one on my WRX that has been pretty unreliable. This one is cheaper and it's been working great so far

This is daily occurrence where I live... And when they see a shiny BMW, people will drive more aggressively since a lot of local cars are already dented/crashed.

wow keep that cam rolling...I had the same thing happen although I was hit. I had 4 Go Pros running on 10min Loops and after she lied to the police I revealed I had multiple angles of her cutting me off and it ultimately forced the police who tried ignoring the witnesses and insisted I was at fault, to include in the accident report that I took evasive manuvers and that the fault layed 100% on the other driver...

It looked like you had a Jason mask on when you turn back towards the camera after exiting the car. That would have been quite the scene.

OP, I'm glad you were able to avoid the accident. I have two dash cams in my M235i, front & rear. People drive like that all time time in Atlanta, you just have to pay attention, anticipate, and watch out for it, just the way you did.
I've had to do the same thing you did several times in the past, although not quite as close as what happened to you. When cars are coming up on a truck like that, I already know some fuckery is about to ensue, and back off. Your situation was however almost unavoidable and came out of nowhere, good job getting out of it. |

Not the OP.... but I am using BlackVue Dash Cams in all of my cars. The one I put in the M2 is a Blackvue DR650GW.
You look at the OPs post and what DKM3Power posted I think there is a good argument for having a dash cam running all the time. The below is from two other threads I posted about the hard wiring installation of a dash cam. It is very easy; I have a dash cam in every car I own (4) and 3 of the kids cars. All are BlackVues. I hard wired both a dash cam and a radar detector in my 2012 535I F10. One I tapped into the mirror and the other I tapped into the overhead console. The mirror is much easier. I used shawnsheridan posting on another forum to install the F10s. When I opened the rear view mirror's housing on the M2 (very easy) I found the same the 10-Wire Connector Plug inside it. The +12V (Switched off the ignition) on the Brown/Green wire and Ground on the Brown/Black wire. I used the wire taps and fed the wire at the top of the mirror housing. Good to go.
