Pretty sure the glove box USB is just to upload songs to vehicle hard drive, can't be used as a regular usb like the one in the arm rest. It's that way in my F30, correct me if i'm wrong if it's not like that for the 2 series.

The dealership fixed it and now both his USB plugs function identically. I'll try to find the thread. EDIT: Sorry, I think I misread. I think you're right, seems like the glove USB is only for loading songs to the HD or attaching a music player? http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=736920 Last edited by hshot_rooke; 07-14-2016 at 12:07 PM.. |

Do you find using a memory stick or hard drive useful? I had tried a memory stick in the X5 and I had to navigate it like a file directory completely loosing any artist, playlist, etc. functionality of an iPod. That and exporting files rather than syncing was too much of a PITA. Or was I doing something incorrectly?

I've been using a hard drive for years on my 135i. As long as you put everything in the correct folders it's easy to navigate. The only problem I have is that I'm on my 5th or 6th hard drive as they keep getting damaged.

Current owners: does the glove box USB work if I just have an iPod hooked up to it for music alone? I am a bit confused by the statements above.
Or will I need to use a stick for the files? I want to keep them at 320 kbps (unless it plays FLAC?), so loading onto the hard drive isn't really something I want to do as it downgrades quality. |

Not in mine either. Just a switch to keep the trunk locked.

That makes sense, I think it's more to keep intruders out than it is to keep hookers in. They're usually dead anyways

valet you can lock the truck and lock the glove box and let them keep the remote and you take the key!
