What intercooler?

I need a intercooler after I do the HEX Stage 2 Tune to my car. I have the fabspeed downpipe, just wondering what intercooler would go well with it.

I Don't plan on tracking too much, just maybe 3-4 times a year. Thanks fellas

I have a Wagner Evo 1 competition with the Hex stage 2, Fabspeed sport cat and AA chargepipe. I have not done any extensive track days in hotter weather yet, but so far no issues with my setup.

Track testing doesnt tell you how efficiently it will cool on the street.. Tube/Fin intercoolers cool differently than bar/plate ones.

One cools well at extended high speeds, but cool worse than stock intercoolers on the street, and the other vice-versa.

Isn't the stock one tube and fin as well? Unless all you do is stoplight drag race, why would the Wagner be worse on the street?

I wasnt commenting on that; I was commenting on using track testing to support its applicability. Just saying that what works great on the track doesnt always work great on the street..

There's a thread here questioning why his Racewerkes intercooler produces IATs higher than stock.. Im just kind of giving deference to that. Not saying this the Wagner unit would produce this.

The Wagner will work well on the street as well. But better than the bar and plate on a road course and autox.

If you're tracking your car you'll want something larger than the Wagner EVO 1 or the knock offs (CTS/BMS/eBay) since they're all identical to the Wagner but with differences in the fin packs.

Your best bet is to compare overall FMIC volume as well as the density of the fin pack.

That is why I recommend the Wagner Evo Comp 2!! High flow volume and light weight, made in Germany.

Which Wagner Evo 1 are we talking about, there are two different Evo 1s? Comp and Performance.

They're both the same size.

If you're tracking the car, nothing is going to beat the VRSF race. It's almost double the capacity of the VRSF street/Wagner Evo 1 and features a denser fin pack which offers significantly better heat dissipation.

I have the VRSF 5” High Density IC on the way. Going to run it with VRSF DP and BM3 Stage 2. Once I grab the logs I can post them up. Anything specific you would like for me to do for your ideal situation?

As you know Core design more important than size or just size alone. ETS,Wagner and Garrett have proven that.

Looking forward to seeing some testing. Ive seen some great results with the M2 using the Wagner Evo Comp 2 and 1. Will be nice if this is another nice addition once we see what it can do.

Good testing thread here.
