Sat in an M4 CS today

I mean, there's no way and I don't care how fast it goes.
So uncomfortable - those nylon straps for closing the doors?

Please on that BMW - how much weight did you save exactly.

I didn't like the interior at all - salesguy comes over - I said "no way man".
He said something like - "ikr".

I don't mind it, but I think the issue is price for me. The carbon bits are cool and I like the exhaust, but I don't think it's worth 30ish more to me.

It is a great track car but a lousy daily driver. I am afraid the M2CS maybe the same.

I've put 42K miles on my 2018 - bought it with 3500 on the clock.
I could fall asleep in it and I'm 6'5" - 200lbs.

I know the CS was not designed as a DD but man that thing was uncomfortable.

I was "maybe' considering the M2CS but if it's anything like that M4CS and I bet it will be - a definite no go for me at least - will wait for the next generation with the S58.

IMO the CS's are too much DD compromise for too little track gain. You save like... 10-20 lbs by removing all creature comforts?

Yeah it's bullshit, and it's not really helping them move cars, probably the opposite.

I think they would do better if they made light weight manual seats. On the coups take out the back seats and just have it be basic storage ready for a roll cage. For the M2cs with the CF roof, 763 wheels, lithium battery, tune, hood, trunk, and throw on CF drive shaft that might be enough.

Next generation M2 won't be going into production until December 2022. So first cars on the road in 2023 so a long ways away...

There is a reason there are M4CSs sitting at the port for almost a year that no dealer wants.

I still know an M4 GTS and M4 CS sitting side-by-side inside a BMW dealer showroom for a long time. Both get lots of looks, but so does the sobering price-tag on display next to these.

Wow, M4 GTS was a total fail. Surprised a dealer has one on display.

IMHO dealers who experience(d) difficulties in selling the M3 CS, M4 CS and M4 GTS, may be more reluctant to order an M2 CS if the car has not already been spoken for. I mean, if no order is secured or if the dealer does not intend to keep the car as showroom showstopper.

Straps are silly since the CS is still a heavy car. If the car weighed say 300-400 lbs less than a standard M4. The straps would make more sense then.

997.2 Porsche GT3 4.0 had straps and even stickers for the Porsche Emblems this was justifiable since the car weighed 2990 lbs I believe. (This is my all time favorite Porsche)

BMW CS no way justifies straps as door handles. It makes me think BMW was lazy and cheap. 'Hey lets remove the door handles, arm rest, use single zone HVAC save 40 lbs and call the car 'lightweight', give the engine a tune, and charge $25k more!'.

And make even more profit at the same time

I have one and i find it really comfortable

The seats provide more support than my base m4 did.
And the plain storage-less door cards provide more leg room and so does the plain centre console.

Single zone climate control is also much more comfortable/simpler to operate

The suspension is also tuned far better and bumps don't upset the car as much

I believe BMW is creating a M2 CS not for the profit factor, I'm sure they'll probably take a loss on R&D with only 1,500 units but for the sheer publicity and years of word-of-mouth it buys them, as they did with the enigmatic 1M release.

What better way to strengthen the overall profile of the M2 range than to create an apex M2, artificially hype its existence, then strategically limit its supply to increase its mystique and demand.

The original M2 was a surprise hit for BMW, so the realized they have a niche following. The King of the M2 is not for you, it's more for the front page photo-up and dealership poster fodder and by extension, a marketing strategy to strengthen the M2 overall sporty character.

Fact...

Not designed as a DD just hardcore only need to apply.

That is why I passed... Sure I go to the track, once every quarter not every week. I DD my M2 and my MB GTS is the garage queen.
