I've only used the navigation system once in my car but now every time I start the car I get a prompt on the I-drive screen for navigating to my last location. I have to always bypass that message to get to other menu functions.

Is this a normal thing?

It is normal if you did not "reach" your destination.

You can get rid of it by going into the Nav and canceling the route guidance.
