Best first mod on the M2 LCI?
Hey dudes, wondering what your take is on the best first mod for the non competition M2. We recently picked up a 2018 and the first thing that came to mind was the m styled carbon fiber mirrors.. we can't think of anything more important than that.
If you want to check out the video, here's the link |

Personally I find those mirror caps pretty cheap looking. Most people prefer the full mirror housing replacement, either aftermarket (AutoID or AutoTechnic): https://ind-distribution.com/collect...or-housing-kit or the real M2C OE mirrors: https://ind-distribution.com/collect...fit-mirror-set |

Depends on what you plan on using the car for.
Honestly, if you have the stock exhaust, I'd get yourself a downpipe for it. Really brings the roar of the N55, plus adds a few HP. |

Cosmetically, it's a toss up between autoid m mirrors, tint, and a set of black front grills.
For performance, if you are out of warranty, go get a high flow downpipe. Get yourself a chargepipe while you're at it.

BMS clutch stop. That is always the answer to "what should my first mod be?" on an M2.

Exactly as above. It depends on the purpose of the car. For me, fix the crappy audio system is the first thing to spend some $$ on |

This is my mod list, in order, and I feel that the collection has done exactly what I wanted without going too far, which was to give the car an OEM+ feel. It looks better, sounds better, and performs better than stock, it didn't cost me an arm and a leg, and retains the factory warranty.
- remove the front plate - tinted windows - clutch stop - Bimmercode - AutoID M2C type mirrors - 98mm exhaust tips - Fabspeed sport cat - Ferric 437's - MPS |

Those are the crappy mirror caps. The Autoid or the ones Ind has are the ones that look closest to stock m2c mirrors. I had the old design like your cf caps but the newer 3 piece design is so so much better.
Cf diffuser helps the look. Intercooler is a needed performance mod. |

I'd do intercooler and charge pipe first.
Then downpipe and tune. Then coilovers or springs and some spacers. Then any cosmetic stuff that you'd like...diffuser, spoiler, black grilles, black side gills, painted front reflectors, rear reflector deletes, black m badge, auto id m mirrors, tint, etc.

I’d agree with the FMIC.
I’m not a fan of carbon mirrors at all. I have a white M2 with carbon spoiler, winglets, splitter because the carbon looks great against the white... but carbon mirrors actually get contrasted against tinted windows and end up getting lost. It makes the car look narrower and less aggressive imo. If anything, I’d be getting color matched M2C style. |

Colour matched mirrors are where it's at. I've got autoID with the blackline tint. Closest you'll get to the crazy pricing of the OEM M2C mirrors (not using they're not nice).
In a world of silver of black mirrors same body paint mirrors make the car look more exotic IMO. Sorry but those mirror caps look cheap and janky. Sports cat frees up the engine and the stock exhaust becomes pseudo exotic. Then I'd say bigger turbo inlet and FMIC with a chargepipe, made the car feel mapped and comes on boost much quicker and revs happily to redline. |

My SA (service advisor) told me straight that it wouldn't void the warranty if it didn't cause a CEL (check engine light). This is the reason I went with the Fabspeed, as they are the only company that guarantees no CEL. No issues at all with the Fabspeed, or warranty.
Yeah, but so what, everything is Federally illegal these days. All that matters if if you're going to be prosecuted over it, and the answer to that is; you aren't. |

That’s great to hear as the Fabspeed sport cat is the mod I want most but thought id have to hold off for warranty purposes. |
