Nice deal. I was just offered $53k on trade for a '21 with similar miles.

Were they offering any discounts on the G82?

Silicon Valley BMW dealership are not great places to buy. High paying jobs and stock options puts a lot of money in buyer's hands. Dealerships know this. Oh, well so much for buying local.

It also depends on the price you are paying for new car, they can offer you 54K but they will also jackup price for new car, net price is what that matters

You could probably do a bit better than that if you push...assuming it was an actual dealer offer and not a quick check on a website.

Sold my 2015 M235 with Carvana a few weeks ago. I got 3 quotes over a month with them. It started at close to $18K and they kept dropping every week when I renewed the quote. I finally settled on 17K.
Looked today and they have it listed at almost 26K with purchase pending!
On another note, I feel bad for whoever is buying that car, especially for that price!

Yes, they will honor that price. They will pick up the car and barely even look at it. The guy who picked it up started it for less than 30 seconds and sat in the driver's seat for less than a minute. Never opened the hood, trunk or really looked at anything! They handed me the check before they even looked at it.

Carvana has been increasing their quote in the previous months depending on the model and even with higher miles on the odometer.

Selling a vehicle to Carvana is pretty straightforward and hassle free. After the quote, they ask for few documents. Once verified, you can schedule pickup at your convivence and they hand over the check while picking up the vehicle. I have sold one in the past and in the process of selling a second one.

Let me clarify. I called them to get a quote on an M2CS, and a quote on my M2C trade in on the M2CS. They quoted 50,500 for my M2C.

Okay! I spit out my coffee when I saw that number and CS in the same sentence

The whole preowned market for sports cars is insane right now. The 991.2 911 I was looking for is now $10-15k more than a year and a half ago.

With so many people not spending money on trips, hotels, restaurants and events on top of new car shortages luxury good markets like sports cars are through the roof. And it doesn’t hurt that enthusiasts don’t like the latest generations of many sports cars.

Hence I wound up ordering a new M2C instead of used. Great time to buy new on some models if you can find one (911 and Corvette as well)

If the car stays around $40k used it'll be at the far end of the price spectrum for boy racers.

At $40k for a used M2 w/ high miles, they're more likely to pickup a new Type R civic or a WRX or a used AMG C class, 340i, Lexus IS.

I don't see these guys buying OG M2s either and that car is 5 years out and hovering in mid to high $30s to low $40s.

They're more likely to buy m235s and m240s which depreciate more than the M2 and get in the high $20k to low $30k range.

Well, I hope you're right! I'll take $40,000. value for my M2C with high mileage all day everyday :-)

Sorry to divert from the main subject but honest question; where you or anyone else here able to confirm with certainty that M2 Competition and CS are mechanically identical, with the exception of the Adaptive Suspension or are you just assuming as I am?

I heard some folks dribbling about the CS having some sort of enhanced engine cooling and such but wasn't able to personally confirm or disclaim this because an official technical manual has yet to drop and I would really like to add these facts to my mental Rolodex.. 🤓

My understanding is that the CS is effectively an M2C with a bunch of carbon fiber bits and an engine tune aside from the variable suspension.

I owned both competition and the CS. My C also had the 763 frozen wheels and all the carbon bits except the hood and roof.

The difference is the C is detuned and it feels heavy when you floor it where as the CS is alive and light and nimble even though my CS is still in the break in period and staying below 4.5k rpm. I can feel the big difference

The CS is not tuned just standard out of the box s55. Can't explain but the feeling is similar to a runner with a training parachute.

My guess is the additional cooling effect comes from the vented hood even if they are identical in equipment. I can feel the engine heat evaporated thru the vents on the CS where the competition is hot when I opened the hood so my guess is the heat trapped in the engine bay on the C ( this in my observation, don't have scientific facts to back it up )

There are lots of difference between the 2 and both are special. Enjoy what you got. Don't test drive the CS or you will be like me ended up with a CS. LOL 😂

Hope this help your curiosity.

Congrats on your M2CS. The M2C has ample cooling which has been demonstrated by owners Tracking their cars. A hood vent isn't going to do much cooling for an engine that has turbos ramming air into the engine before explosions take place. I agree that the M2CS tune is incredible. However it can be flashed to many M2Cs for $550. I know that many people don't like tune their cars, however the S55 engine is like manikin, it's character is in how you dress it up.

Just looked at Autotrader and prices keep going up. Many 2019’s asking price is at original sale price and 2020 and 2021’s are being advertised above original MSRP. Of course I do not want to sell mine as there is nothing I would want to replace it with. I just pat myself on the back that I saw this car had tremendous potential and I placed my name on the list in March 2018. Smartest thing I ever did as far as car purchases.

Anyone who trades a car in has money to burn. Private party sale or auction (bring a trailer or Cars and Bids etc) make it easy. You'll get more for the car and sell to an enthusiast not to a dealer to flip and profit from at your expense
