I think you're right, unfortunately.

The 788M’s especially in 2QT suck ass. They make the car look so plain and like a regular 2-Series. 437M FTW.

It's funny, I said the same thing - I honestly thought I was next to a regular 2er...and I am not sure if that's just the 788 or 788 + AW, but something about that car wasn't working for me.

It didn't help that someone was taking the MT OG M2 in BSM with the 437s out for a test drive...my God that looked the business...

PS - the 788 themselves are honestly a pretty wheel - I am just not sure they work with the M2.

There was a non-ZCP M3 that had to be pulled out before the guy could take the OG M2 out for a test drive - it had the 437Ms. They didn't look great...but they look perfect on the M2. I am seriously wondering if I should just scoop up an OG M2 LCI....

I remember I caught some flak in another thread for suggesting BMW would not cast two different mufflers for EU and US. Unfortunately I was right .

Agreed with Tag on the seats - not too loud at all, but I couldn't get into the car and check out how they felt. I think they look pretty nice.
Can be purchased? This is my exact build...

I think it's the AW, personally. I saw a HS prototype car with 437M and I think light colors actually do not work well on the M2, although HS is better than AW. The 437M are probably the more aggressive looking wheel still, but I saw an LBB M2C with black 788M and thought it looked very aggressive.

To be honest, every time I have seen an M2 next to an M4 I feel like the M2 looks sort of tall and frumpy.

I am not sure if Tag is right about the wheels - it could be the combination of the AW + bi-colored 788s that were on this car, but I have to agree with him a little bit here...it looked slightly underwhelming if that's the right way to say it.

In fairness to the car, it was dirty and clearly had just been unloaded - the wheels weren't shined up, no tire shine, etc...but it sort of looked like, dare I say, a regular 2er from the side?

There were a few people taking a look at it, and someone had pulled it up close to the building, so getting good shots was not easy, but I will resize and post the pics soon.

The mirrors look good, the brakes are enormous, and I actually think the redesigned front fascia works - those are all nice, new additions. The wheels are pretty in their own right IMO, but something wasn't working with the stance or with AW...I am not sure.

Oh, and the muffler can is an abomination. That's the first thing you notice about the rear of the car. Doesn't matter if you're close to it or not - that thing HAS to go...
The muffler does definitely look like crap and the wheels don’t work with the design of the car.It isn’t AW making the car look bad.I have seen the CS in SO and HS and what throws you off is the new design changes to the car.You have a sleeker front bumper and a new mustache kidney grille which totally changes the look of the car from the front.Like me,you are probably just used to the perfect design of the current car.

They then ruin the rear design of the car by having that huge muffler hanging down. Why not change the rear bumper to hide it?They changed the front,so why not change the rear, where they really needed to hide something.

The CS does still look good but don’t expect HS or SO to make the car look way more aggressive in person than these AW pics.

Correct. No one has claimed it yet. There was a snafu with changing the options with their very first allocation and it came through with the placeholders rather than someone’s precise build.

AW
DCT
Slicktop
Blue stitching
Bi-colored 788s
Executive package

If you call, ask for Bill Earnest and tell him I sent you.

PM me if I can help in any additional way.

The OG M2 in BSM seriously looked like a different car - in a really positive way towards the OG M2.

This nails it. They're elegant, maybe for a 5 or 7 series. The M2 needs a 5 or 7 spoke super aggressive concave wheel to help show off that caliper and massive rotor....I will be swapping out.

I agree, every time I see an M2 in BSM I am surprised at how good it looks. I also think the old straight-cut chrome pipes work better on the car for some reason.

It's weird because I think black is the worst color for the M3 and M4.

I asked...there was an uncomfortable silence - no one seemed to know.

What is the pre-delivery inspection called? PCD maybe? It might now have been done because that red sticker was on the driver’s side, back window.

Guess that came out the wrong way. The guy was going to let me drive it if I was a serious buyer. He also said they're asking $5k over MSRP. I could have played along and gone for a test drive, but they were all really nice (I'm sure via direction of mgmt they want $5k over, not the sales guys) so I didn't have the heart to string them along knowing full well I wasn't interested in that particular car.
