Can I lease transfer after 8 months?
I know that there's a 12 month rule about selling the car but does the same rule apply to lease transferring a Canadian car or would I have to wait for 12 months after the date I originally leased my 20' M2c?
Would the wheel and tire insurance also be transferrable to the next person who takes the lease? Just curious if anyone has done this before and if was a smooth transaction. I've done it before with Audi and Nissan and never had issues. |

Usually you can get an extra 15% off with a clubs discount so it could come out to 6,500 tax in for the wheels and tires but I ended up finding a set outside of Montreal. |

I've never seen this before and it certainly wasn't mentioned when I picked up my M2C in June.

I think it may have been a somewhat limited thing, BMW Canada did have a policy where they had buyers sign an agreement saying they would not resell the car within 12 months of purchase/delivery, or particular to resell the car with it being shipped out of Canada. I think it was something done earlier in the sales cycle when getting allocations was a challenge.
I don't recall having to sign anything when I bought my 2017 but I might be misremembering or they didn't bother with it since I was doing Euro Delivery (and BMW Canada's special M Tour program too). |

Actually it wasn't anything to do for allocations, it was because countless cars are being illegally exported to China due to the huge difference in price. When I bought mine the salesperson explained it to me, they basically put a $1 lean on the car so that it can't leave the country. You can still re-sell it, just need to get approval from the dealership. It was such a big problem that dealerships were penalized by BMW Canada for every car that was found to be exported.
