FYI- There is a Performance Edition currently listed for sale on e-bay for $89k. Photos are included so it ends much of the speculation:
Alpine White, yes NO stripes No extra carbon fiber anywhere! Looks like standard rear spoiler for M2 No M-performance appearance bits except for the black kidney grills, black mirror caps, black side vent. These are not CF. No ashtray cover but 12v socket appears to be there still. I think it's a great deal at MSRP if you want all the extra performance bits. But I was hoping for a bit more visual bling out of the box. If I were to get one I'd want to add the winglets, CF spoiler, Sideskirt, and interior CF bits....$$$. Being a limited edition, it is likely to appreciate with time. M2 MPE, Suspension and ride
I've heard the MPE in several videos online....I assume it sounds as great in person. How is the volume compared to the stock M2 exhaust?
Also, I would love to hear how the MP coilover suspension feels in daily driving. Is there anyone who can compare it to the stock suspension? I prefer not to give up comfort in the name of a few track days per year! thanks |

The car will not appreciate it will depreciate like any other when M2 demand has been met or when the CS becomes available. You can't even flip these cars and make anything.

Only drawback on this thing is price. You're literally paying thousands more for BMW to remove standard features. |

Just curious, would you have purchased the car? I have a lead on one that I am trying to buy. I really like the car and I am curious as to your thoughts having driven the car.

BMW of Kansas City had one show up on their lot Friday morning, the car looks and sounds great. The car carrier driver scrapped up the front lip when he was unloading it off the truck. Ugh. I don't think that the vehicle was spoken for.

I drove one yesterday. Was offered it as MSRP.
It's a fantastic car and much more connected then the M240i I drove, but I could not compare it to a regular M2. If they really limit it to 150 units, it could be a good investment, but otherwise, I'd rather buy a base M2 and save $10k. The manual seats are great as is the exhaust, but I'll take the extra weight that comes with comfort access and premium sound.

We drove in Sport and I don't remember the MPE being particularly memorable. MPE owners, when you say it sounds better than stock is that b/c you're running in track mode? |

The only difference is the weight of manual seats vs electric seats....

I'm in the market for a M2 - there are (or was as of last weekend two in my area). One was a MT and they wanted $20K markup (!!) and the other is a DCT and they're asking MSRP. (from that story alone you can tell which dealer in my town is successful and who's a notorious bunch of jerks). Anyway, I strongly considered, but with the LCI here and the upcoming word on the CS - I added my name to their CS list. As for the PE, $64.9K just seemed to stretch the value of what you are getting although I actually really liked the manual seats. Never seen a seat w/ that many adjustment levers (I counted 6?). The downgraded stereo is the real ripoff (I know, "but the exhaust is the music!). I would have probably bought it if'd they'd come off of MSRP, but understood why they wouldn't. So, on the CS list I am and we'll see what happens.

I picked up mine this weekend. I drove the standard m2 and the PE back to back. There is a difference but nothing that you could not do aftermarket. Just felt quicker and more connected. Ride is stiffer. Exhaust Sound is better......
Radio is worse ) ; I do not think you can go wrong with either. I just thought at 6500 for the double adjustable shocks and exhaust was about you would pay after market and I did not have to mess with picking it out and putting it on.....

can't believe only 150 manual seat M2 exist in the USA .. Agree with you that that PE in manual is probably the bargain overall. Assuming a CS is DCT only and comes in around 69k then it would only be around 5k and would be a very slight jump and reason to wait. Unless the CS is more than 70k ... If that occurs then a PE DCT still could be the ticket if you are inclined towards the DCT. I would check back in about 2 weeks.. right around the end of the month ... and see if they are still holding firm or not. |
