Cleaning black chrome tips

Tried everything. Wire wool , magic eraser , wheel cleaner.
White spots and black at bottom of tios.
All suggestions welcome.

This is a good question. I'm putting mine on next weekend but I would be hesitant to use a metal polish on them like regular tips as this finish looks like paint to me rather than typical chrome plating. I think you may have to use a mild paint polish to get off difficult deposits. I'm going to ceramic coat mine to make them easier to wash in the mean time.

Tried the above in combo with #0000 wire wool. Did not work. Wondering if they are some sort of heat spots.

Maybe try Mother's R3. I know it's mainly for removing rubber marks, but I've found it cleans just about anything

When looking at this close it does not seem like the spots are on the surface. They seem more like the chrome has changed color. Could be wrong but that what it seems like.

Lol you are correct. That’s faded paint essentially. There’s nothing you can do.
