Powder coating original M2 exhaust tips?
Has anyone powder coated (matte black) their chrome exhaust tips, OG M2?
I'm looking for guidance about prep needed, and type of paint (high temp?). I have a friend who can powdercoat. |

A local shop did my stock chrome exhaust tips in Cerakote, a ceramic coating popular with firearms. It is good to 2200F, but comes in satin black only, and takes 4 days to air-cure.
Powder coat is good to 1000F and can come in practically any color, matte or glossy. I attached one of their brake calipers powder coated (not ceramic) in blue. Price for a set of four tips: $125 USD for Cerakote, $80 for powder coat.
