Hey buddy, I'm glad to hear that, it sounds like really great news on all front, and congratulation on securing a suitable deal elsewhere.

I'm waiting for some news about my order today instead but I got assured that no one will tamper with my specs or anything *touching wood* which was a relief.

He can surely get the M4 brakes afterwards which is even better I suppose and to be fair in hindsight I could have done the same... I wonder if that was going to be even cheaper as well.

M2 already has M3 & M4 brakes as standard.

The optional big brakes are 20mm bigger (and a lot heavier) and currently unique to the M2C.

I've already bought a set of Pagid RS29 pads for to fit the standard setup. The blue calipers might not look as good as the upgraded grey ones, but with these pads in they will work a whole lot better for sure

Ah yes, sorry, those will make a nice upgrade...

Don't you need to change the master cylinder and vacuum assist chamber to suit the Carbon brakes??

I genuinely have no idea to be fair. I saw the mod on the M2 GTS project by Evolve but I don't know the details.

Cheers guys. Yip some really good deals on DCT, the difference between the DCT and manual was pretty big actually.

My current car Focus RS, is obv a manual and I love it, however I work in a City centre and the daily commute is a bit tiresome on the old left peg. So DCT doesn’t really bother me.

Believe it or not the Brakes are on the order

It’s RyBrook BMW that is providing car, and they accepted the order from broker. No idea what’s going on honestly, I don’t get it at all. It would drive you insane if you try to work out what dealer says and does what.

But I’m going to chill and let it play out, positive thoughts and all that

I feel you, I was adamant all my life about manual and all that, like religiously adamant, but to be honest I find DCT and the like a nice and lovely compromise just in the middle between a traditional old school auto and a manual. If you really want you can still remain engaged with the car via paddle and stick shifting after all but you get the extra comfort when needed. My very subjective and personal opinion of course.

A broker just sent me this if anyone is interested. A cancelled order that is basically a fully spec’d car. For a lease I think that’s not too bad considering what you are getting!

M2 Competition 2dr DCT

36 Months 8,000 Miles

3 x Initial Rental

+ M2 Plus Pack

+ M2 Comfort Pack

+ M Sport Upgraded Brakes

Monthly Rental - £637.99 inc VAT

That M2C has the brakes option so it can't be ordered anyway!

Is that correct? I mean you can definitely order it I would say no? Whether you get it within a reasonable time frame is another story though...

You can "order" it with the dealer i.e. sign up and pay deposit, but the dealer cannot put the order onto the manufacturing order system at present, no build slot will be allocated with 2NH option "until further notice".

So all you have is a "promise to order" from the dealer when BMW lift the order stop on 2NH brakes.

Don't be confused between your order with the dealer and their order with BMW, they are two separate contracts.

Yeah, that what I sort of meant... but without the actual details. Thanks for clarifying, appreciated.

In my eyes a car isn't ordered until it's ordered from the factory proper.

A "promise to order sometime if we remember" from a car dealer wouldn't do for me.

Completely agree! That was my argument with Peter Vardy, that the T&Cs were not applicable as the order wasn’t really “ordered”

By the way, while chatting with Tom Hinchliffe at Cooper BMW York as suggested by doughboy I realised I'm an idiot. I kept looking at my initial quote and no the final one, and I so discovered that my dealership actually gave a £4000 discount on my car. It still doesn't justify them for the lack on communications about the delays but now I kind of feel I owe them some.

In other news, kudos to doughboy for the recommendation and for Tom at Cooper BMW, their service and will to help were spot on and incredible. I can't fault them so far.

New lease deals from freedom contracts today.

£353 Inc vat per month on 9+23 6kpa. Mega bargain...

DCT only though.

BMW must really be trying to shift DCT models...

I think someone from BMW is telling porkies about a brake’s shortage, as this guy seems to be up to his nuts with Brembo parts!

I don't know, my dealership told me my car should be ready by March but he didn't give me the order number yet as requested so maybe something unlocked in the production line or they are still telling lies ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

About that guy, he is based in US so maybe he is sourcing them elsewhere, rather than Europe...
