I think they are the most popular winter tire for the M2C. I have some waiting for me when I pick the car up. That being said, I know of some that have slight rubbing issues with 255 up front.

Get the 245/40's on 18" wheels. That's what I did and the setup is awesome and snow performance is fantastic.
18" won't clear the larger brakes on the M2 Competition..

Oops! You're right. Thanks.
I'm running them on my C63S for the first winter up here in Minneapolis. So far, no issues at all with them. They are the only option for that car with OEM wheels, and they appear to be very well received over on the MBWorld forums.

I ran Blizzak LM32 for 3 winters on my M3, and they (Blizzaks) were really great. Had those been available in the sizes I needed, I would have gotten those instead though.

great tire all around for overall winter performance driving. in cold weather as well as light snow it works great. in the dry cold temperatures you will forget you are even running winter tires. once you get into the heavier or packed snow you aren't doing too well compared to the more blocky snow tires (such as the blizzak). I ran the pa4's for three winters on an m235 as a daily.

Joined a couple of other m2 owners for an early morning x country blast in mild temperatures today.

I think they were surprised how my car - 235 wide 18" MPA4 tyres all round - went down the road. Their cars were both on oem 19" mpss.

From the drivers seat, my car was moving around a lot more - than it does on summers - however it was so communicative it was a lot of fun.

Downside was the car went from clean to dirty !

I've got 235/40 R18 PA4 on all round as well and I'm really impressed with them too, even in the milder UK winter we're having. I expected to lose some performance, but I don't feel like it's anywhere near as much as I imagined it to be. You can definitely feel the extra give in the sidewalls, but it does actually add to the driving experience.

I can't imagine using the MPSS thru the winter, the small period of time I spent using them in lower temperatures wasn't pleasant. I'd much rather run the PA4 in milder temps than suffer using the MPSS in the cold.

MPSS and other summer tires are downright dangerous in winter weather. You did the right thing. I got stuck in maybe 3mm of snow with Bridgestone RE050A once a long time ago. I could not really move on a flat surface.

Joe Achilles - swapping to 19" MPA4's on his M2Comp...

Seems impressed even though tyres look new/not scrubbed in.

ACS wheels don't do anything for his HS M2C IMHO....

I have this exact set up right now on my OG M2... . They're mounted on the stock 19s. They work very well in the snow that we've had so far. This car is a beast in the snow; it's a ton of fun

I honestly have no idea how ACS stays in business. Their stuff is all pretty fugly IMO, the wheels might be the best part they make and I don't think the design has changed in 10+ years.

I am not surprised at all by the results. Once you've passed the glass transition temperature of the compound you're in trouble. I could not get out of a FROSTED driveway at -5C with gentle slope once with a G35 coupe on Bridgestone RE050As.

I've been running PA4's all winter. Our winter has been bizarre and on the mild side, random bouts of cold and rain, some ice, but just a tiny bit of snow. I haven't gotten to try them on snow but I've been on some seriously icy roads, and through torrential downpours in sub-40 degree temps. They grip dry roads in below freezing temps wonderfully. They are fantastic on cold rainy days and they were more stable on icy days than anything I've driven on. Very pleased with them.

they are amazing in the dry and great in light snow..
when you encounter deep snow 15cm or more.. better to not drive the car. You will get stuck.
I got stucked a few times this year.

also, it doesn't do well in the ice, just like any rwd cars with slight uphill.

Michelin PA4s are awesome. I went with 245/40-18 square on 18" wheels. The car is unstoppable in the snow as long as I have enough ground clearance. I made it home fine in November with a 7" snowfall.
