You guys do know that the Midpipe from AA to use the Stock Muffler or another axleback is different from the Midpipe they have on the signature exhaust?

I'm running the signature exhaust and it's a 3.5" all the way back to the muffler. The Midpipe doesn't split again into two tubes.

Anybody in FL that wants to hear the system in person can hit me up!

I didn't realize the mid-pipe was different, still it could be fun to mix and match parts to end up with something a little more unique even if its Frankenstein.

Don't get me wrong! It's different but still sounds great from what I found on my research when initially looking for options. The M3/M4 crowd uses the Midpipe paired with stock rear and sounds much better than stock.

Oh no way I'm sticking with the stock rear end, that muffler needs to go! I'm just wondering if there is a combo of axel back and AA mid-pipe that is potentially better value or sound than the full AA signature system, but that might not be feasible.

Yes I know that. If has to be different because it has to split to mate up to the oem exhaust. I’m sure it still sounds good since it’s a single pipe most of the way.

Here is a good video showing all 3 exhausts together. oem, AA mid pipe, and AA signature exhaust. It’s for an F80 M3 but M2c is the same.

Start watching at 5 min mark.

@chmura that's one of the vids I looked at when researching!

I knew I was doing Midpipe from AA from the get go. But then ended up doing full signature system!

I'm going to just do AA midpipe as this is the cheapest option, reduces weight, increases sound, and increases performance!

Just getting a slip on is not worth it IMO. Only benefits of a slip on is sound and maybe slight weight decrease which does not justify the $$$ for me.

How would those two setups compare with BAN_M2C's AA sig + VRSF downpipe setup?

The AA is very bass heavy and deep. Minimal if any rasp, because it's so deep. This sound is for sure due to their single mid pipe and muffler design.

I prefer the Remus or Dinan paired to the active because the sound is not "too deep" the bass can definitely pass for drone on the full active if your ears are sensitive to that tone/sound.

Between the Remus and Dinan with active, I think the Dinan is louder between those two because the Dinan muffler is a small piece with an h pipe in the center of it.

Overall, I really think the Remus with AA is a major winner. The quality and sound just can't be beat. Especially with the price point in comparison to say Akrapovic or Eisenmann....!

I was going to go further in depth regarding quality and installation but it doesn't have much to do with the main question

It would be nice to have a sound clip of the two options. Do you know if the VRSF downpipe make a difference sound wise when paired with the AA sig?

The other option I'm looking at is the Eisenmann race. Unfortunately I haven't come across any sound clips.

Adding downpipes in general will make a significant difference, especially if rasp is a factor

By adding more flow, you're adding more of the natural characteristic of all BMW engines, which is rasp.

If you want to avoid rasp then I wouldn't touch the dp.

If you're looking for power and minimal rasp then anything featuring a single mid pipe design will solve the problem.

The closest clips will be those found on the m3/4

These videos below of the exact exhaust (active with vrsf) is not bad either

I also had a video before adding Downpipes.

The AA setup is definitely deep tones on lower rpm range but as soon as you are WOT and above 5k it scream until redline.

The Downpipes just increased the sound overall didn't add any rasp to the setup.

Stock vs stock the M2 Competition vs an M3/M4 sounds different. The M2C has a deeper sound in stock form than other S55's

Ban_M2C, your setup sounds amazing. Did you hear any other pipes before pulling the trigger on the AA? Did you get a CEL after you swapped out the downpipe?

I think you were considering the Eisenmann ? It would be nice to hear a clip of the Race version.

Here is how Active Mids + REMUS axle back + VRSF Downpipes sound on the M3/M4 S55

Its a very nice and aggressive exhaust but definitely has rasp to it

When replacing the downpipe on S55 or N55, you will definitely get a code unless you are running a 200 cell cat
