The M2CS may scorch the earth. Just hope it sounds as good as it goes.
I'm still torn on the price point to bail. I want to put a stop at 80k, but if it were 85k would I really let 5k get in the way of what could be one of the most fun cars that can still haul the kids. Sure there are other options, but don't think there are many in this niche.

I'm considering zero options in Alpine white - hope that it's around $70K.
I will pass if over that #....which it probably will be.

My m2c also 1635 kg much much to heavy.

Why also more hp in the CS 450hp is it because it s the easy way.

I rather see a m2 at 1300kg like the renault trophy with about same hp as the 1m coupe. At 450 hp that s no entry M car anymore.

It is such shame BMW cars getting bigger and heavier. Especially M cars which should give more fun in driving. Weight is youre biggest enemy!

Stop the hp wars. I need 1300kg or less and not 450hp or more!

Colin Chapman stance holds true, more power will make it faster on the straights, less weight makes it faster everywhere.
I could not agree more with this post!

"Flasch [Markus Flasch - BMW M boss] was trying to persuade me what a great car the M8 is, how much I was going to love it when I try it three months from now. Yeah, but it’s so big and heavy, I said. Oh but it doesn’t feel that way, he promised. Oh but I love the M2, I countered.
He paused, smiled. “Yes… the M2 is my favourite M car too. It’s got so much character. Not every driver goes to tracks and uses all the performance, but in the M2 you feel the character at the first roundabout. It’s got precise steering, an agile drivetrain, manual shift. We will continue to offer manual when customers demand it. It’s about being fun to drive.”
Our feelings exactly. Don’t change a thing.
Flasch added, “We’ll do more special models of the M cars, limited edition CS versions.” And sure enough we hear, from other sources, that an M2 CS is coming, as a run-out car for the current-generation M2 Competition. More power, less weight. Might be worth making friends with your dealer right now."
The M2 CS is gonna be ace. They know it. We know it. The competition knows it.
Hopefully M-Euro delivery next summer.

I've been waiting for this car for a very long time. Basically since I was too young and couldn't get a 1M.

What do people think the 0-60 will be for the M2 CS? 3.8 seconds?

Also I noticed reading reviews of the M3 CS that the torque increased from about 406 from the competition to 442 for the CS. Makes you wonder if M2 CS torque will increase.

I believe yes, but as others have mentioned elsewhere it is the area under the curve that matters. Peak numbers are great, but mid-range improvements are where you should be looking. Those numbers don't get quoted, but increases can be substantial.

The same, because the issue is still gonna be traction, not the power.
Even if 0.1 quicker, who cares? If you do, you're buying the wrong car.

Hello guys

After waiting for the CS for a bit and with a m2c for helping me with the waiting game, i just can´t see a market for the cs, for the price and lack of better performance and interior upgrades, it´s just another competiton with more carbon bits and a ecu flash.

What i wish it was is gts version like the m4 gts to justify the price etc etc, with rollbar and some seats that we can put some 4 point seatbelts....

Just feels it´s a m2c with other wheels...

Hope i´m wrong.
Best regards

This is exactly what I think also. When we see a production model with a price tag then the decision will be more clear.

Just look at the M4CS, still plenty sitting in dealership showrooms that are starting to add bigger and bigger discounts.

Here in CAD they have a pdsf of 116k and there is one right now going for 109k and I bet its going to sell under 100k once we are past half summer..

Fasten your seat belts for 2020, folks. Looks like storm is coming.

This could help price this more favorably for consumers. I think the C8 will also help. Certainly a different animal. Two seat vs four, but performance for money is playing in same wallet.

Too bad BMW isn't throwing in some OLED tail lights in the M2 CS to give it that extra panache, as they did with the GTS and M4 CS.

OLED is all the rage in the high-end lighting world but I heard that BMW is focusing on MicroLEDs, which is the most efficient.

Can't wait to see how bright the future would look

Would be nice, but who knows, maybe they will surprise us

The OLEDs would not need to be on the test mules for testing, this can be tested in the labs, so maybe they reveal them with the official reveal of the car

Most details about the M2 CS have been reported here in the meantime. Forum fellow MR. (as well as some others over here) could tell you what's still to be disclosed about the M2 CS ...but then he will have to kill you.

Secondly, the G80 M3 won't be lighter, it will be heavier.

Haha, thanks for clarifications Artemis.
So I guess I'll prefer to wait for the official reveal
