Wow not bad at all, especially when considering FBO + Big Turbos for N55 might put you around $7-10k in parts alone. Good to know there's another pathway forward if the engine does blow!
I imagine you had to buy an exhaust, cats, etc. as well to fit it up to the S55? Was that included in the $14k figure? |

awesome Build! Did u have to use a different ecu? When you say coding, do you mean due to new ecu or trying to make the n55 ecu work with the s55? Engine harness is the very minimal did you need anything else wiring related ?

I could see some more builds going this route as prices come down and limits continue to be pushed. Thank you for posting it regardless.

Somewhere, Philly Sweden and the rest of the N55 "power doesn't matter an oh that sound" crew are having an aneurism, lol! You think we'll ever see a comp be N55 swapped?

I don’t see anyone actually doing this swap unless it is for a dedicated track car. Otherwise it is too expensive for very little gain.

Are you guys being intentionally obtuse or has the N55 sound leaked into your brains? He obviously wanted an engine that would hold the power level he is at for more than 10000 miles and have some head room for more. How is it "very little gain"?

Do you mean the S58? The B58 is like the N55 in that it doesn't have the platform for huge power without lots of mods for heat etc.. The S55 is ready to go with a $500. flash tune at Stage 1 93 with no other alterations. Stage 2 with just adding downpipes. That's getting deep into the 500+ HP and torque.

Sorry, yes, S58. B58 > N55 for power, but S58 > B58 for sure |
