US-based steering wheel re-upholstery company?
Does anyone have a recommendation for a US-based steering wheel re-upholstery company? My 2018 M2 only has 20k miles and the steering wheel, like many others, is already showing a frustrating about of wear and tear. Would love to get a reupholstered wheel with some more quality perforated leather or even alcantara. Thanks!
I found a couple companies on google, has anyone used them or heard anything about these? DROZD UPHOLSTERY - https://www.drozdupholstery.com/bmw COBY WHEEL - https://cobywheel.com/f80-m-sport-steering-wheel.html I dont think im interested in just a wheel cover, it looks like covers make the wheel a bit more girthy (for lack of a better term) than I really think Id be happy with.

I purchased a new take-off wheel from the FS forum right after I got my car for this very reason. I think you'll find that's the best option. Just troll the FS forums every day, they come up here and there in like-new condition.
However, I'd like to get the rim of one of mine done in alcantara, so I'm interested in the responses here. I don't like how quickly the V1 blue stripe fades, and I don't like that boy-racer look anyway. |

I wasn't aware that the stock wheel had any quick-wear issues, with many guys having them into the higher mileage without any mention of it. Maybe you're just hard on wheels?

The reason I say "like many others" is that in a high percentage of M2 interior pictures i see in for-sale ads or otherwise, the steering wheels are normally spot damaged, worn, glossy in some spots and matte in others, etc. I just dont think that BMW chose a great material for the stock wheel, thus my search for an upholstery company.

When I installed my M2 CS alcantara wheel, I sent my stock heated wheel to Coby and had it covered in the grey 9002 alcantara, tri-color stitching, no center stripe for ~250 IIRC
Quality was great (tri-color stitching, alcantara, etc) and it was thinner than the stock CS wheel (https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...7&postcount=15). http://dallassteeringwheel.com is another option I found references to on bimmerpost, but have no experience with them. |

Coby was used a lot by members of the zhpmafia forums when I was a regular there a few years ago. Saw a lot of pictures of their work and everybody seemed super-satisfied with their stuff.
