I just saw that porsche can't sell MT 911GT#'s in California because of noise restrictions.
And for that story - I'm with them to ban straight pipes; but of all the asshats in NYC making too much noise, they had to find a guy putting loud pipes on a BMW?. |

A normal conversation is considered 60db lol. They certainly seems like overreach to me. Europe has limited car noises and seem to allow a somewhat reasonable level.

Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Even CA's rule is 95 db with very specific measurement criteria. I don't see any measurement criteria in NY's bill text. My wife's CR-V is probably 60db if measured at the exhaust pipe.
This is the best part " a measurable limit of ninety-five decibels for motorcycles and 60 decibels for cars," So if you want to maintain a loud vehicle - get a motorcycle. Fuck them. |
