Could it be Estoril? Sure.

Is it Estoril? Unlikely.

Numerous factors can go into how the color of a car, positioned on a white background, will appear when put through the post production process and then onto video. Just because it looks similar to the Z in color doesn't mean conditions and editing were identical.

Honestly all the talk about the colors and mirrors really takes away from how cool of a car it really is!

Of course it is not Estoril, it is just the color grading that makes it look like that.
It is the same car that every other british car magazine has used and it has a different color in every video and photoshoot - welcome to Long Beach Blue.

And again in this video we see how much closer to the fenders the wheels are on the M2 compared to the M3/M4. Barely need spacers on stock height.

AFAIK the pre production cars where also in LBB:

The color is also changing because every picture and video is color corrected. If the hue changes ever so slightly the blue looks different. LBB is right in the middle of blue to turquoise spectrum. We can see this issue when BMW released pictures of the car and it looks different in every press release.

I guess I'm still the only one who thinks this car could've been better executed.

It really needs carbon fiber components to make it more than a laughable 50lbs lighter than the M4, real M mirrors and wider rear fender arches. Horsepower and torque numbers are good and I actually prefer the N55 over the S55, it sounds better, but in the end seems like all M cars are becoming the same exact thing. Same DCT, same Steering Wheel design, same Active Diff... a little differentiation between the models would be nice and offer more exclusivity and marketability. Something like perhaps only offering the M2 with a 6MT, giving the M2 a unique carbon fiber roof design, and a different M Wheel design than the M3/M4. After all you don't see Mercedes putting the exact same wheels on their CLA45 as the 2015 C63 AMG, S63 AMG Coupe or AMG-GTS. I just feel like the M2 could've been so much more. Oh well, I'll never buy one anyways.

You're not the only one. Just the only one this week. Everyone else on here has followed this car for over a year and has heard it all before.

Dear God, just give it up!

1) I very much doubt the colour choices available will change at any point in the life-cycle of the M2 (both pre or post LCI).

2) Even if they did offer a new colour option, they wouldn't give an M2 to a magazine to do a very public review in a colour you can't even buy it in yet!! What part of this do you not get?!!

All these ridiculous theories as to why it might be Estoril Blue instead of the MOST LOGICAL reason is that LBB just looks different under varying lights.

If this was the "Describe the person above you with a picture" I would probably use this on you.

The more I see LBB the more I love it. I wish I could get silver wheels though. Maybe swap with an M4 buddy!

The clip in this video sounded exactly like what I heard when I saw the M2 back in October. It sounded great to me and didn't fart like an S55 either

It just sounds so quiet. But when he starts the engine it can't be in sport+ right? So the sound must be better than that

The color looks nothing like this at all in real life. It's super dark and blue in all of the videos taken in this room.

If I remember correctly, Valencia Orange was a brand new color used as the launch color for the 1M. It has since been used in other non M models, but at least the baby M did it first. With the M2, not only will it launch with a color already used by another M model, but it will launch with a color already used by a non M model. The X4 M40i will hit western shores earlier than the M2.

Let me know your thoughts once you see a LBB X6M.

I saw one at the dealership the other day and literally turned around, got out my car just to walk around it.

The color is honestly beautiful in person...doesn't photograph well as they can't capture the color...
