Odd Tire Rack Results (or am I missing something)
Hi All
About to grab a new set of RE-71Rs and wanting to step up to 255 fronts and 275 rears. I'm on the stock 788 wheels but do have camber plates installed with this being the results of most recent alignment (shouldn't be a problem from my reading). So the odd thing is that when I search for the M2C (their By Vehicle option) in Tire Rack and select the factory option of 245/35-19 and 265/35-19 I get these results which include the Re-71R, which is expect and what i've been running on up until now. Now if I backtrack to still using the Search by Vehicle, but instead specify custom sizes down the bottom and use 255/35/19 and 275/35/19 I get these results instead with the RE-71R seemingly missing. Now if I instead go through searching by tire sizes directly (rather than by vehicle) I get these results which does include an RE-71R option The stats of the 245/265 tires are Front: 245/35R19 93W XL Load Range: XL Serv. Desc: 93W UTQG: 200 A A Rear: 265/35R19 98W XL Load Range: XL Serv. Desc: 98W UTQG: 200 A A and the stats of the 255/275 I find manually are Front: 255/35R19 96W XL Load Range: XL Serv. Desc: 96W UTQG: 200 A A Rear: 275/35R19 96W Serv. Desc: 96W UTQG: 200 A A So it looks like the only difference is the load index where the rear 265 tires are 98, so 750kg per tire whereas the 275 is 96, which is 710kg per tire. Does that actually present a problem? By chance any other attributes I've missed in the comparisons? |

Its because your car requires XL tires for load rating in most cases. The 275 rear is not an XL tire, so it automatically excludes it. With that being said, doing the math, that tire does meet the load requirement for the rear GAWR of the M2 Comp, so you would be fine to run it, its just not recommended.
