Bootmod3 M2 OTS map update - Version 5.6

So I finally had some extra time with an M2 DCT to get some 100-200km/h times.

I ended up getting 8.8-9.1 seconds on 93OCT (98RON) with catless downpipe and intercooler.

So I decided to update the OTS maps with the newfound changes for this car

All maps are updated, including the E30 and Racegas map!

Version 5.6, March 7 2019:
- Power increase
- Revised boost control
- Revised ignition advance

Power is increased (not dynod) only dragy and vbox. Approx half a second faster 100-200km/h

Boost control is changed so the M2 turbo can give a big midrange punch and still make power at high RPM.

Ignition advance is slightly improved at high RPM for the 93OCT maps over stock.

Thanks again Halim, the changes from the start of the process to the end were very noticeable on the road.

I plan to revisit the same dyno to get a new power figure and compare the delta 👍🏻.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a quicker time is possible on the 93 map. Comparing to other cars that run 8.4-8.6s 100-200kph, from 100-170kph the times are exactly the same. My car just falls a little short over the last 30kph, might need to experiment with shift points etc.

Everyone will enjoy going from v5.5 to 5.6 👍🏻

Nice!

Should I expect anything on the Stage 1 91 octane map?

Also interested to know this. Is there a new version for stage 2 91?

I checked the app, there is a new version. I'm stock at the moment though.

I just flashed stage 2 91 5.6.
I previous was v5.5 but I only had it for about 1 day so I couldn't notice a difference power delivery wise.

Only thing I immediately noticed was that burbles seemed more mild. Not sure if that was touched or not. If v5.5 was a 6/10 v5.6 seems like its a 4.5 or 5/10 (aggression-wise in my personal opinion)

I went to custom burbles to bring it back to as close as I could to v5.5

Maybe Halim@HCP Can comment if it was changed or maybe I'm just crazy lol

I was only on 5.5 (93oct Stg1) for a few days too, and I don't have the best driving conditions to tell a difference right now too, so I can't comment on it. But I was thinking burbles are less too. I'll now for sure tomorrow, when it's super cold, cause that's when I get some aggressive backfires to happen. What did you end up setting burbles to to correct it?

Sounds like we're in the same boat you and I haha.

I put aggression at 5.8 and it seems to be pretty close. Might be a tiny bit stronger but hard to tell like you said sometimes when its colder it's really aggressive. I put duration at .7 seconds on sport and 1.2 secs on sport+ just as a personal preference. I think default OTS is 1.0 secs?

Haha yea, I'm gonna be the worst one here to tell a difference with anything... My M2 was in an accident Sept 2nd, was at the dealership getting fixed until end of January. Had it back for a week then went to another mechanic to reinstall the Xpel (and add coilovers, swaybars, and intercooler). He installed the parts, but didn't do the Xpel cause the dealership royally F'd up the paint. So it has to go back to the dealership on Monday.

Since the accident, I had my car for a total of 2 weeks. I couldn't even tell the difference after the coilovers and swaybars were installed haha. And I don't wanna drive too hard without the Xpel cause all the gravel they put on our roads for winter.

V 5.6 Stage 2 93 map pulls noticeably harder right up to 6500. So smooth.
Thanks Halim for the continuing improvements in the OTS maps !

Just tried it. Powerful and smooth! However the auto rev match still isn't working . Set it off during sport but it's still on

First impressions are where have the burbles gone! throttle is a lot more responsive and that's how comfort should've been but tbh I do find it to be too aggressive in sport.

Engine keeps revs up off throttle more than v5.5 or it could be the lower burbles that are causing me to be sensitive to the revs staying up. My 6 yr old daughter noticed the car being louder and wasn't too impressed

She does pull better up to red but I was only able to pull second and that too traction limited being -5C outside with a crap load of salt on the roads.

Will mess around with burbles to get them back

All in all I do like it and it does make you want to push her even more. Not that she needed any more of that characteristic

Tried it with my Dinan turbo tonight. Feels good. Midrange def feels stronger.

Burbles are less, will give it a couple days to adapt and crank them up under Custom if the burbles don’t come back.

Will work on a 2H version of v5.6 after I put on a sport cat.

I tried doing custom burbles and something happens to comfort mode to where comfort mode burbles are super loud compared to sport. I don't know why comfort even has these burbles. deleted the tune and re-downloaded and did custom burbles once again and same thing. Something is definitely off with v5.6

I went back to v5.5

E30 similarly improved? Feels good either way.

It's not conclusive but at the same time as flashing I changed sport burbles to zero and sport+ to 5.8.

Bubbles didn't work at all on either settings, dragged sport up to match sport+ and does work now but not as aggressive as before flash.

I'm flashing these changes right now. I only drive in sport+ so I only changed those and can only give my thoughts on that mode.

Did the map get updated to fix the burbles? I had the 'has update' flag on version of the map I flashed yesterday?

Even with the changes, burbles were still weak. So I went to the Stg2 Agg 93 tune and they are similar to the Stg1 93 v5.5 burble again (though I think still a little less aggressive)

Anthony, can you log in again and see if your map has the 'has update' flag? Curious to know if you flashed the same version as me and hence have an update, or if you flashed the updated version.

Yes. v5.6 Stg1 93oct has a "has update" next to it for me. But the Stg2 93oct and Stg2 93oct AGG do not.
