Bootmod3 & warranty

Looking to flash my M2 soon and have some questions. This is my first new car and first BMW.

1. Is it okay to run a stage 1 tune with a fabspeed sportcat downpipe?

2. Will I have any issues at the dealership when it comes to factory warranty?
If I will, is there anyway to flash the tune back to stock so it goes unnoticed if I ever have to bring the car in for service?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Can't speak for #1 but yes you can flash back to stock. However that is not 100% going to guarantee they won't find other log data to use against you if you blow your motor. It's a low risk, but a risk at that.

#1 yes you can. That is my plan. the tune and the cat go hand in hand in achieving max benefit (along with any other bolt on). Of course, a IC would help too but it's not a 'must' for bm3 stage 1.
Charge pipe upgrade is recommended though.

For reference, this was posted by member Stefan in the BM3 thread-

This stuff is pretty standard for all F87 OTS tunes.

Stage 1 = nothing needed
Stage 2 = FMIC + DP
Stage 3 = FMIC + DP + Turbo upgrade (although dinan calls this Stage 4 but w/e)

#2 Packpride85 summed it up. If BMW looks hard enough, they will find something.

U really gonna wait four years? Enjoy the car! Don't worry on the small chances of breaking if u could afford car in first place.

100% agree with you, I would like to just try to avoid my car being flagged but if it were to happen it is what it is.

I go back to bone stock for dealer servicing. I’m getting fast at downpipe swap and the bm3 flash process is super fast and easy.

I don’t remove the intercooler or charge pipe. They can’t really tell on those unless side by side another m2 and comparing them.

Kind of tedious but I do the same thing as well. DP removal and flash back while leaving the other goodies.

Lol want to do mine??...I keep reading how getting it to align properly for clamping is a real pita. I guess this too becomes easy with practice...

So you guys swap out the cat even just for regular servicing ie oil change?
