OG M2 (n55) to M2 Competition
Need to start thinking about the next car, the current M2 and N55 which I love driving will be up in the next 6 months after 4 years.
I much prefer the dash in the original and the sound...did I say sound!! So is it a new M2 Competition...to be honest no love for the CS...I literally use my sunroof every day...no tracking, and the Australian police keep us in check on speed at 110kmh max. (And then some). Oh and I rest my left arm on the centre console. Not sure I like anything else...suggestions? In OZ any real Porsche starts at $300k |

I was in the same boat. I have a 2017 model with a year left to pay off and was shopping around for a M2C. I think I might just buy some new mods for the engine and sound and make it feel "new".

The difference is so incremental that it's simply not worth the expense, not to mention the loss of the aspects you already enjoy.

IMO at this price point and beyond, before getting into Porsche GT cars, there really isn't anything that gives you the same experience, especially if you're like me, wanting a small/agile footprint, RWD, 6MT etc.
Not going to M2C/CS, due to sound, styling and weight. If I'm expanding the garage I'd be looking at used at this point. |

Save your money and add a few mods if you need power. The N55 will likely be a lot cheaper to maintain in the long run. Parts are cheap compared to the S55 and that S55 crank hub is spooky.

Honestly if you're able to keep it, then I would. The M2 is a fantastic car. If you were to upgrade, then make it a significant one.
At this point, the new gen M models are coming soon and the S58 is the new "it" engine, and imo, will be for a long time. |

Keep it unless you can make a bigger jump to something like a 991.1 s/4s or 981 gts |

I'm in the same boat, have a 2017 M2 with 10k miles. The loan will be up in about a year and maybe I could get $35k for it. Tough to justify spending another $35k for the M2C (including MPE and CA sales tax). It's arguably a better car but not $35k better IMO and experience at Thermal.

If you aren't tracking the car, I see no reason to spend that much money for the S55.
N55 is such a great engine, lengthy and reliable history, great low end torque, and basically bullet proof. Both are great engines but I think N55 is the better engine for around town driving. Save your money

The m2c strut brace retrofit to the m2 seems like a good idea if you're keeping it.

Makes 0 sense to go from an OG to a Comp - almost no difference for a massive amount of money and decrease in sound - better to get a different chassis if you're bored

It seems it improves front end feel and steering feel, so I hear. I'm still on the fence if an upgrade to M2C makes sense for me in the future so I have not done the brace yet. Financially it makes no sense to upgrade to M2C, but if I keep the car long enough, it won't bother me to do so and I will enjoy the higher redline, M buttons configured as I please, and a lot more power via tune.

I agree with everyone's opinion on the small incremental improvement going from M2 to M2Comp. Whats the opinion on going from M2 to M2CS ?

It really matters what some one bought the M2CS for. As a daily driver, not much difference. As a track car, a very nice improvement.
