You could, but then you'd be stuck with it until lease end or lease assignment. Think of it more as a much less expensive Hertz Exotics rental with model flexibility, providing the monthly price is also only a month long commitment versus an annual commitment.
I rented an enterprise exotics 5 series for 3 days for $175 and used my miles to pay for it so it was free. If you multiply that by 1 month it is $1750. It also has model flexibility. Actually you can rent Mercedes, Porsche, Jaguar, Land River as well. I think Turo is cheaper than this as well with more selection and shorter than 1 month term. You can rent Lamborghini, R8, Bentley, etc.

You were lucky to get the deal. Probably in some rural area and/or you are their preferred customer. Otherwise rates like this are not advertised and are plainly unavailable to general public.
I'm in Pasadena CA, not rural. I booked in advance and had AAA discount. It's pretty standard rate and my travel rewards card covered the cost. If you book the day before then it is much more expensive. Also the Turo app is pretty cheap. Like Airbnb for cars.

Not really. This program is targeted towards a very specific audience. For myself, I'd be spending $15,672 less per year subscribing to the M Tier compared to the 3 DD cars I lease and insure. On top of that, it's month to month, I can pause my subscription when I'm away for extended periods and don't need to use it, and there's 2000mi per mo included and any unused miles rollover.

Is it expensive? Yes. Is it meant for a mass audience? No. Will this post garner criticism for financial choices? Absolutely.
Your 3 DD vehicles go down to 1 vehicle. I'm running a 2 vehicle M tier in my garage presently (18 M4 ZCP individual vert-$94k & 18 X5M-$114k), and still have $1,300 left over after monthly payments including insurance to add a 3rd vehicle, but no thanks BMW as I'd rather daily swap M's in my garage than waiting for some genius to drop off. Also, my insurance deductible is $500, not the BMW FS $1,000.

I should start my own Access program, anyone in Charleston, SC PM me

Serroulsy, anyone spending $3,700 per month wants to personlize their vehicle with specific exterior and interior colors/trims.

As I postrd it's a M4 vert aka F83, full leather, individual exterior, competition, all except CCB. Price doesn't included the Awork-x ED Stage II tune or exterior mods.

Get ready for the M4 CS when that's over $100k.

BMW should make Rolls Royces and i8's available at $3,700.

Can’t speak to your 5 Series deal (hardly exotic) but I rented a Jaguar F Type SVR Convertible from Enterprise in Ft. Lauderdale for a week for $1,725 all-in, except fuel...so $3,700/month all-in for an M6 Convertible, seems fair to me. If you can only subscribe for a month at a time (Summer Use Only), it is a much better deal than having to lease/insure/maintain for a 36 month lease, unless you want a rear wheel convertible all year round daily driver in snow country. To each their own.

As seen in this thread, we already know BMW is on Meth. No way a 3 series, minus the GTS, should be touching $100k. Lol

I think the prices for both options are way too high. The target audience is atrociously small with this kind of price tag for the service.

On another note, does this mean that BMW themselves don't see the M2 as a true M car? I wonder why they wouldn't package the M2 into the BMW M option.

I would want to compare price with Turo for the M6. Used examples of the M6 can be had for new 3 series money.

A highly emotional and exhilarating “M” tier will consist of BMW’s most powerful and highest-performing models such as: BMW M4 convertible, the all-new M5, BMW M6 convertible, as well as the BMW X5M and BMW X6M Sports Activity Vehicles.

"Highly emotional" is not exactly the best way to describe an M car. The only emotion that you are going to feel is anger and sadness when you look at your bank account and realize it's empty after paying for a BMW that you will never own.

Is this really something to brag about though? Is having this subscription "better" than having two of those same cars or possibly three in your garage for the same price?

Kudos to BMW for trying something new. Initial pricing seems a bit optimistic, but it will get more competitive as others join the subscription model.
