Thanks guys! I figured it out, but wanted to ask first. Here's a bit of details for others.

Take the engine cover off which just pops up, no screws, pull up from the back first and then the front. Trace the cables up to the two plugs which are held in by metal clips. The plugs themselves are color coded one all black and the other with blue so you can't get them confused with reinstalling. On the flat side of the plugs themselves, there's a gray tab, pull it up then you'll be able to squeeze and pull the plug a part. Some pics as a reference attached. I decided to stop there and wait for my new ramps to arrive since I didn't feel confident with my jack stand setup I had.

Unfortunately this happens too often, i now ask customer to remind their installers about reconnecting the sensors

Hey I just got the Fabspeed sport cat and went to a local shop to see about install. The guy there told me he might have to remove the wheel and suspension to get to the cat. Seems to me he has no clue what to do and even questioned whether the part I had (in hand) would even fit.

I'm thinking about doing this myself even though I don't have an access to a lift. Seems like people here have done it at home without issue.

Stay far far away from that shop. The only thing you need to remove to get to the downpipe is the skid plate.

I did mine in my garage with ramps.

Either get ramps or go to another shop

I definitely agree and stay as far away from that shop as possible. There is no reason to disassemble any of that stuff. We usually knock these downpipes in 2-3 hours including our test runs after the install.

Exactly what's been stated. Ramps work the best and 2 - 3 hours is a good estimate based on my experiencing with the installation. Two things took the most time, getting the clamp off of the turbo/cat connection. What broke it free was using a vise grip and clamping it onto the bolt hole part of the clamp, and tapping it with a hammer. Second was reinstalling that same connection, downpipe/cat to turbo. You want it nice and flush all around for a good seal, than clamp it down. Just took some patience, trial and error.

I used these ramps as a reference:

You don't "have to" but it is a good preventative measure.

I've been looking at the quickjack. Did you get the 3500lbs or 5000lbs version?

I went with the 5000 definitely worth the money way better then my jack and jack stands.

hey Guys, just doing some background research on installing the FabSpeed dp I ordered today (thanks Mike!). One thing that's glossed over in the Akrapovic manual linked above is the step for removing the exhaust: "Remove the stock muffler with link pipes." Is it obvious how to do this once I get up in there?

those directions are a little misleading, or maybe the English translation isn't that good. you don't really remove the entire exhaust/muffler. i had to unbolt the exhaust hanger from the car at the front pipe location in order to have more room to pull the down pipe down and out, then push it up and in when installing the new pipe. i collected footage from when i did the install, and will try to make a DIY video when I'm not too busy

I'm looking at doing Dinan S2 package and a fab speed down pipe. Is this a wise decision? Does it mess with Dinan warranty? Has anyone done this before? I bet it sounds amazing!

The DP won't affect the warranty, according to my SA. It's actually better built with a higher quality HJS cat than the OEM DP.

Are you considering the S2 package which consists of suspension parts ($$$$) or do you mean the P2 package which is only a tune and bolt-on components?

yes, im thinking full S2 with the suspension bits as well. my decision is not set in stone. I'm interested in down pipe and/or sportcat from fabspeed. I don't want to be too loud, so i may or may not pass on the dinan exhaust. too many options
