Ok.. I'll be the 1st.. whatta waste of time. This ain't an E9.. never will be. If you are going to put in this much effort why not restore a true E9.. and not bastardize an E39 while you're at it.

I'm with you. That "shell" of an ///M5 is what made me first fall in love with BMW.

Sort of blasphemy to see it compromised with modern crap. If you want to drive a classic, to take all of the compromises that come with it. That's what makes it so classic!

Exactly! This should be cool but man, I really don't approve.

A polarizing build...some forum members like myself did not have the privilege of owning or driving either vehicle. Regardless of my personal taste, I applaud the folks for taking a leap and putting in many hours to see a project like this to the end.

Love it...super classy. One of the all-time great bodies.

I might have skipped the website on the deck lid.

Love the concept and thought behind it. Wish the interior dash had more time into it - looks like they cheaped out a bit.

I don't see the problem with this, people do it all the time to mustangs and Chevys. I like the concept.... Reliable modern car with antique body.

I didn't see the story behind the cars,. But if the E9 had been gutted and the chassis bent up. I see no problem. If the car was perfect and numbers matching. I would cringe a bit.
