M2 Competition Manual Transmission

Hello everyone, I was number one person on the my dealership's list but my car still has not even manufactured. My dealership say that my order is delayed because there is a shortage of manual transmission. Does that jive with your experience. Thx D

Doesn't sound right to me. Just finished manufacturing a few weeks ago with a manual.

If you have no production number from dealer it means they don't have allocation period.

Once you are given the prod number you can go to bmwna website, create a profile and track the progress of your car being built.

Garage List
I ordered 1st of june. Took delivery 12th of october.

During that period of time there was a shortage of 2NH and 788M for 100%. On top of that i think i had an additional delay of 1 month because of manual transmission.

A friend changed his order from 6mt to DCT (and added 2NH) and his order was immediately pushed forward 6 weeks!

I haven't heard that from my dealer yet (and they've been really proactive about offering updates...). Ordered July30, have production number w/build week 47, but I'm sitting at "Received Order". Will know more shortly, I assume, if 47 is going to happen

Ordered July 13th and still sitting in the order bank. Dealer is still telling me they expect to deliver the car this year. Not seeing how that's possible if people are getting build week 47 allocations at this point. 6MT here as well if it makes a difference.

If you have prod number, call BMWNA hotline they can confirm if that prod-number is priority one sold to customer, and that customer better be you

Got the call this past Saturday that an allocation was available. Gave him my CC for the deposit and had a week 45 build with a production number by email in less than 30 minutes. Delivery probably in January (west coast). Ask for your production number.

Mine is a manual as well......

I have an "Order Bank" thread going and a few others have received production numbers in the past ~2 weeks as well. Hoping my dealer just hasn't received their allotment of fall allocations yet.

Thank you very much for all your responses.

Just to give you more info. I ordered a year ago. Was told I will receive the first allocation. The first car that supposedly came in was Blue and automatic. I received the production number on August 13. Around Oct 10th I started seeing the VIN number. The dealership now says that this is their first delivery of manual car. Again I was told over a year ago that whenever they make a list I will be on top of it.

My July production was pushed to August. Dealer told me manual was the cause but they have had no issue from August onward. I struggle to believe that after 4 months of production your dealer has been unable to secure its first build. Good luck!
