Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Good Afternoon everyone, To begin with, I hope each and every one of you is safe during these strange times. We will look back on these times to remind us how vital family is and how we will all get through this together. Welcome to my dream of building a replica Moto GP M2 here in the states. Back in late 2019, I was enjoying my wonderful E92 M3 but had always wanted to do something crazy, something to let my imagination and creativity flow. I had wanted to build a BMW safety car since I watched my First MOTO GP race back in early 2011. Seeing that 1M kitted out, running around the track had me in love. I knew that this was a dream I had to fulfill. In the early parts of 2020, I sold my E92 M3 and began the search for my perfect F87 M2 to fulfill my dream. Listed below are all the modifications I made to my M2 to make it what it is today. February 14th 2020. Valentines day. My first day with my 2016 BMW M2. Picked up with 26,000 miles and began the 1500 mile journey all the way back to Boston from Atlanta.

Met up with some friends along the way. M2Ghost and Thic_F30. I met Matt at SEMA last year and he was one of my inspirations to do a crazy build on an M2. His build is amazing and as a person, he is even better. Truly one of the nicest people out there. Jon (Thic_F30) is just cool as all hell. Perhaps the funniest guy I know. Great to meet up with these guys and form what we know informally call, "The Ghost Squadron"

Upon returning home it was time to Fully wash and decontaminate the M2. It was clear this car was in need of some serious attention as it had not been cleaned in a long time. After a full wash and paint inspection, I knew I would be calling my friends over at Q Car Care Boston for some help with this project.

Cue the MODS!
The first things that I invested in were a set of M style Gloss black mirror housings. At the same time, I also installed a set of sequential blinkers to give the M2 a touch more modern look. |

After these bits, it was time for some help from IND. They make the highest quality accessories for BMWs and beyond. Upon receiving some Color-matched reflectors and rear reflectors honeycomb deletes I was ecstatic. With the ugly reflectors gone this car just looks so much more appealing.

Alongside all these little mods, at 28,000 miles I decided to do a major service including the following:
Differential flush and fill Manual transmission service Brake Fluid Flush Coolant flush and fill Oil Change Also added for good measure: VRSF Chargepipe 5.5 Inch Stepped intercooler Doing this major service wasn't too costly but made me feel a lot more comfortable that the car is fresh. Every car I buy always gets every fluid changed for peace of mind. |

Next after the major service, a few more mods were inorder, time for a bit more sound with a BMS intake. Personally I think this is the best intake for the money out there.

After these little mods, It was time for the biggest of them all. Mounting up the PA system and the Roof-mounted 50-inch lightbar. Here is how we did it.
LIGHTBAR: Fitment: What we did is fabricate brackets out of Steel and bent them using a vice. As the roof slopes and we wanted the lightbar to remain straight we had to compensate by tapering the bracket at 9% in order to keep the bar level. We used thick rubber underneath the mounting plate when attaching the bracket to the roof in order to spread the moment of inertia to the rubber rather than just on the 1 roof rack hole. this spreading of pressure away from the single screw hole allow for the bar to be far stronger and not flex at high speeds. Wiring: As we were not interested in drilling through the roof of the M2 we decided to run the wires down the roof and into the trunk. Using quick fit connectors we allowed for the lightbar to be removed and reinstalled in less than 5 minutes. The wires were hidden under the floor of the car and routed to the battery. We then ran the wires under the floor up to the front of the car for the control panel. After removing the ash try we had a perfect spot to mount the controller and attached the panel into this area using double-sided tape for easy removal if needed. PA SYSTEM: Fitment: The only reasonable place the PA system was going to go was directly behind the front bumper. We experimented with hiding it behind the headlight but the speaker was too bulky. We drilled 2 holes through the crash bar and mounted the speaker as far back as possible. Wiring: We ran the wires through the firewall, under the floor and into the trunk to the battery. from the battery, we ran the wiring for the PA controller back under the floor and back seats, up into the center console and out through a small hole right next to the handbrake. This makes the controller very accessible and it is not in the way of anything. VIDEO CAN BE WATCHED HERE: |

time for the Livery! Working with Corsa Auto Design we attempted to recreate the MOTO GP stripes. It's damn near perfect and looks ace in the flesh. It took the guys from a Q Car Care a few hours to meticulously install but the final product was exactly what I was looking for.

After installing the Livery, It was time to head to get some more service work done and to install more bits. Farley and Paolo at Eurotech Motorsports are like family to me. They have been my go-to shop for the past 5 years and have helped me extensively with this build and all the ones that have come before.
We installed: OEM BMW Motorsport GTS wing OEM Front winglets OEM Side winglets Eibach springs Service performed: Oil Change New Spark plugs |

After the wing and other cosmetic bits were completed, it was time to install all of our sponsor's stickers. These people and companies were a huge driving force in this build and without them this project would not have occurred. Thank you to those who have been apart of the build thus far.

New wheels time! our friends over at Richland Forged hooked us up with something very special. The first set of Forged 763M style wheels in brushed gold. These were custom-built for this build with proper offsets for perfect fitment! Look at how amazing these are

The exterior is nearly complete and I think looks amazing. After getting the stickers on and having the car paint corrected and ceramic coated it looks better than new. Now it's onto the interior. I'm thinking bucket seats and a cage? What do you guys think?

You've probably already seen this, but it's pretty pricey and possibly no longer available https://ind-distribution.com/collect...87-m2-roll-bar In any case, bear in mind that there are some convenience and safety considerations to take into account if you are going to run bucket seats and a cage on the street |
