I know a package from Bimmerworld when I see one—the Haribo gummi bears with the MCS coilovers are a dead giveaway! My 12 year-old loves it when I get Bimmerworld packages...

Your mod list is mirroring mine! Hah....

I have the Antigravity H7/Group-94R battery

Also did the Rear Seat Delete: https://sternperformance.de/en/

And will be doing the exact same seats soon in Black.

Great build so far

Orange or blue would have looked more special. Black looks boring. Maybe with red or gold rims.

Hopefully they never have to replace a gasket on it! They can't do it correctly

I feel if you had ordered the vehicle with the M performance carbon fiber parts for the hood fenders trunk and roof you would've achieved better weight reduction results.

Car looks great! Would love to feel what the difference feels like between stock (which I'm currently at).

I DO have a question though, as an owner of (both stock) a Cayman GT4 and M2 Competition.

Why spend so much time and money modifying an M car, when you can get a Porsche that's much better out of the gate (I believe, in most measurable areas), e.g. you mentioned you previously owned a GT3?

I feel like the beauty of an M car is the everyday driveability of them (compared to a Porsche GT car)...

I haven't tracked the M2C other than 6 laps of the Nurburgring when I did European Delivery, but the car felt way heavier, a lot more numb, and just overall a lot less enjoyable than the GT4 (which I haven't driven on the Ring, but have tracked quite a bit). The M2C feels like the better daily though, and is very fun on the highway, some twisty back roads etc.

I GUESS the answer (in most cases) is that it's just fun? I'm just genuinely curious and would love to hear someone who's owned both types of cars.

I definitely understand the enjoyment you get from modifying your own vehicle and personalizing it the way you want it...and it's also quite fun to own a car for a while, modify it, and directly feel the result of those mods...but it just seems like it's such a high cost that is so hard to justify.

Now, to contradict myself completely lol, I just ordered a set of 763M wheels to use on summer tires for my M2C, and while I was at it decided to order the M Performance front lip/rear lip spoiler...but the total cost with installation is going to be about $10k CAD. I could probably buy a used FRS for that price. It feels totally silly to be doing it, but alas, here I am being a hypocrite.

Okay, I realize I've rambled and not made too much sense, but it's COVID-19'oclock and I have nothing else to do...so curious to hear people's thoughts on expensive M car mods vs. just buying a Porsche GT car (especially a pre-owned that'd be even more cost-effective) or even a less-than-GT Porsche.

The odometer had <100 miles by the time we got started. Coming in at a portly 3616lbs, the M2C is by no means lightweight. The first round of mods called for a Remus Race muffler, AntiGravity LiFePO4 battery, Sparco Limited Edition Lightweight QRT-R seats with Macht Schnell Clubsport Seat Mounts/sliders, and removing the back seat shaving off 159lbs from total weight.

Stock pads were tossed and a set of Endless pads were added on all 4 corners to improve of the braking.

Second round of mods started with some MCS 1-Way Non-Remote Coilovers being added along. Ground Control camber plates and SPL arms were added in order to get the alignment dialed in. A carbon diffuser with integrated brake light was also added for style points.

BBS FI-R wheels finish off the build, while clearing the monsterous front brakes with absolutely zero clearance issues.

APR aero will be added later. We will be sure to update as as they get added. Enjoy!

Build list
- MCS 1-Way Non-Remote Coilovers
- Ground Control camber plates
- Ground Control Weight Jacks
- VRSF Downpipes
- Sparco QRT-R Limited Edition Red Ultra-Light Race Seats
- Macht Schnell Clubsport mount kit
- Remus race exhaust
- AntiGravity Battery with reStart technology
- Endless brake pads
- 19" BBS FI-R Wheels w/ Bridgestone RE71 tires

You know, I love HS but I gotta say, I think the M2C looks best in BSM.

I've been through this dilemma in my head so many times, as I've highly modded more than a few M3's.

I think for EAS, BWM is a big part of their overall business, so an M2 build makes sense on all levels strategically. And if you look at what a few of the tuners are doing in Europe, the end result of a proper M2 build is pretty epic!

For me, I can't afford the entry level price of a GT4 or GT3 ($80k plus), so I've bought e36's, e46's and a few e92/90's over the years and did as much as a could to them to make them special.

For sure I want a GT4 or GT3 when the time is right.

Yup that all makes a ton of sense, especially when it's a business expense. I've just ran into so many people who have over $100k into their car at a track day...and I'm thinking hmmm. I guess I also previously came from the Nissan world, where an exhaust was $700 not $7k haha, so everything just seems so expensive! You get what you pay for though :P
