2018 BMW M2 MPE Vibrations/Rattle

Hey Guys,

Just picked up my LCI M2 last week, and noticed that there is a very annoying vibration in the exhaust at idle, as well as horrible vibration/resonance on the highway at like 1600-2000rpm, attached is a video demonstrating this. I have read all the threads about it being the tips, or being the midpipe clamp, but it makes the same sound while the tips are off, and the midpipe had solid clearance over the brace. If I adjust the exhaust hanger slightly, it changes the rpm at which it is vibrating at which is very odd. Any ideas?

Thanks!

My guess, a metal sheet in your rear silencer is loose.

To fix that would I need a new backbox?

I would let it check at a workshop or with an endoscope.
If its something loose in the backbox, you could get a new one or cut it open and weld it in place.

Mine had cracks around pipes and box connecting area. I'd suggest take a good look.
After welding, rattling/vibration gone. Still strong after 10k miles.

I had this same issue after a run on the highway. Looked at cutting it open to reweld it. But now I'm looking at doing a custom race exhaust with bigger midpipe.
