I bet we still get the Mirrors. These mags do generally great ///M renders all the time with rolling stock mirrors. We will know in just a few hours, but I highly doubt M will disappoint. Can't go backwards from the 1M.

I need to see this car in person before i order one. I guess first time i ll see one is at the autosalon brussels januari 2016. My 235i is up for sale. But i m not selling unless i m getting the exact price i want for it. And yes, it needs M mirrors!! And oil temp gauge. Yes please...

I will say this, I am quite underwhelmed by the looks of the car. The front I think is passable, but the rear looks like they took it off an SUV and stuck it on a much smaller car. Would this make me not get the car?
No, obviously it is much better than the 235 in pretty much every aspect. But the looks department is a bit awkward. Is it an ugly car? Absolutely not, but it just isn't as good as it could have been appearance wise. The m4 and M3 just look so amazing, and BMW could have made this car absolutely gorgeous if they took similar styling cues. But I guess in the end that's not the purpose of the car, I am ok with it being the ugly duckling that's a whole lot of fun to drive. Ultimately it depends on the price in the end for me. If it comes too close in price to an M3/M4 I think it would be a hard decision for me. If it tops out at high 50s fully loaded, then I would definitely go for it. But I don't get some of the absolute hate about this. If you like your 235.... this is a faster, better handling, more raw version of it. So would I take a 235 over it? Probably not... unless these things start having dealer markup and are victim to 1m pricing. Then im out.

Of course it doesn't have M mirrors, hood bulge, carbon roof and M seats because why would I buy an M4 then? Also 370hp in BMW means 370whp. It's not that expensive either but I would still got with a slightly used M4 that's still under warranty than this.

Given it's limited run, I highly doubt we'll see a LCI and/or compeition pack. These things are going to be gone quickly with all option and package lists already set and ready to be released to consumers.

The author of the article is a real person. and her twitter handle is legit. Someone should just ask her if its real? lol. but she does describe herself as a video journalist. I believe the second photo more because its looks like a actual bmw photo they do for all their cars. The reveal cant get her quick enough.

How would that work though? Say you are right and let's say worldwide, BMW is only giving Europe 1000 and (North) America another 1000. Orders are now being accepted and they get orders for all 2000. There is going to be that chance that half will receive pre-LCI because they were first on the list and will be produced before the 2er LCI? I don't think BMW would do that especially with a unique model. I truly am interested to see the logistics of this if in fact the LCI is possible. The 1M didn't have this problem because it was built after/with the LCI features. Either all M2 will have LCI features or none, I don't see BMW mixing it up.

Wow, so much bull because of a couple of mirrors and a couple of leaked pictures.
I guess the hype have gotten to some, seriously some of you guys need to get laid. Let's judge the car with more info on our hands, as well as some more pictures. My only thought as this stage is, why the limited numbers? I get the 1M, but again only a certain low number with M2? Doesn't make sense. But for me, the E46 M3 have always been special, a legend on it's own. The M2 is this car all over again imo, can't wait to see it!

Kidding. That render is pretty much it. Instead of the M3/M4 bumper, the M2 got its own unique one. I believe the CF roof and power dome was debunked very early so it was not expected to get those. Take those away, it's pretty much what you see in the OP. |
