While the M3/4 one fits our cars, it's not 100% plug and play. It doesn't have two holes drilled ( just for the plastic) and you have to cut your OEM plastic skid plate (just like fall line) as seen in my photos above.

The M2c is 100% plug and play like all of their other skid plates
Thanks for clarifying. I'll go with the M2C plug and play version then.

Nice. The M2C specific version looks good as one large aluminum piece!

Maybe you could look into getting it powder coated on your own. I'm sure there are a few local shops that could give you a quote.

I just emailed Turner yesterday on them listing a black powder-coated finish and they replied:

"I spoke with the product team- they are going to get this on order right away, so likely will have them coated in the near future/ early 2021."

I am going to wait for the coated one to come out but if forced to buy it with the current finish would definitely take it to a powdercoating shop. Should be less than $100 to basically get it any color you want.

Wouldn't it potentially get all scratched up anyway given its location

When go TMS, their website says it doesn't fit M2C. On the pics it looks like it fits just fine with the one modification being mentioned.

I picked up the phone and talked to TMS, and the M2C black powder-coat versions specific to the M2C will be out in March. Doug in Sales said the M3/M4 one will not work on the M2C. It believe it should fit cause the difference is the M3/M4 is only the middle portion while the M2C one larger piece that covers the entire front end. It's only a couple of months, so maybe worth waiting.

LOL I know Doug M. since I live 10 minutes from the shop...I have the M3/4 one on my car and the tech that installed it said it was easy to mod and fit.

I understand he probably has to say it won't fit given they want you to pay for that M2 one.

I just picked up my car from the shop yesterday (installation of a euro-spec bumper) and they mentioned that they just had a lowered M5 (I think?) come in with oil cooler damage due to hitting something on the road.

I think (while expensive for what it is), this is probably a worthwhile preventive mod-- hopefully Turner will come out with a black one soon. I have a powdercoater that I use for my motorcycle parts that does good work, but he's pretty slow and it would be much easier to just have it done right out of the box.

Read through the thread and am still confused, so sorry for the follow up question:

I just bought my 2019 M2C yesterday, and the previous owner mentioned the only thing that had happened was a rock skipped up and hit a radiator, which got replaced. (unclear of which one)

So do I have this skid plate already or not? I am confused as it mentioned the "M2C one" or it being like the M2C, so does that imply I have a skid plate already?

Car hasn't been home for 24 hours yet, so haven't been under the car... yet.. hehehe

thanks!

I doubt it. You probably have the stock plastic oil guard that provides minimal protection and Deflection.

Turner Motor sports has two Aluminum Skid plates that will fit the M2 competition.

One is specifically advertised as M3/M4 fitment only. It will also fit the M2c but will require cutting the middle part of your plastic oem oil guard.

The other one was just released and specifically made for the M2 competition + provides more coverage. It mounts without modifying your stock plastic cover and is a direct replacement.

Edit: Also, If you can reach under the car with your phone and take a quick photo we can tell if it's OEM or not

Glad I came across this thread ... I couldn't wrap my head around the $700 fall line skid plate .

This one is much nicer at $450 .

I'm running a Fall Line guard right now - just purchased a Turner skid plate to replace it.

What's the weight of the FallLine/TMS solution? I had the TMS one for the e92 M3 and took it off as it weighed so much and it was a PIA to remove and put back on when I needed to get under there.

warrenw Not happy with the Fall Line?

Fall Line was pretty heavy for what it is. Pretty thick steel.

I hate it actually if I'm honest. You have to cut your undertray to pieces in order to get it to fit, and when it goes under your front bumper lip it actually pushes your front bumper lip down a bit so it's harder to fit a lip. Disclaimer, I installed this myself in my garage so maybe I'm an ogre and I did it wrong. But having to cut the undertray and half use that plus the fall line piece is just... not great design in my opinion.
