not sure if its similar, but i was having same problem on android and i finally figured it out.....

The Ethernet setting has be turned off before setting it up...toggle off Ethernet, put in the settings for the connection, hit save, and then turn ethernet back on and open THOR app.
Not sure if I'm having a dim moment here, but I don't seem to get much option within the app. Only seems to show WiFi adapter connection and it wants a connection to a vehicle before doing anything.

On android you get a notification on your phone when you plug in ethernet, you click on the notification and go to the ethernet settings on your phone where you put in the settings.....
sorry not sure how the iphone connects. these are the instructions thor dropped on the other thread....

ENET Cable

For connecting the ENET cable with the Ethernet plug to your Smartphone or Tablet you will need an adapter. Those are available on Amazon and a lot of other webshops. For Apple devices just search for “Ethernet Lightning Adapter”. There is only one type. For Android devices there are 2 options. Older Android devices have a Micro-USB port, so you need a Micro-USB to Ethernet adapter, while later devices (like Samsung Galaxy S9) have a USB-C port. Once again, they can be found easily at Amazon and other shops.

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Etherne...gateway&sr=8-3

https://www.amazon.com/Amatage-Light...gateway&sr=8-5

https://bimmer-connect.com/products/bg-light

Setup your Apple Device for THOR with ENET-Cable
First, enable “Flight Mode” in the iOS Settings. When connecting your Lightning-to-Ethernet Adapter to your Apple device, a new option “Ethernet” will appear in your “Settings” panel.

Just make sure your settings are all on “Automatic”. Once you plugged the ENET cable to your BMW and your ignition is turned ON your Apple device will show an IP Address (for instance
169.254.xxx.xxx) and Subnet Mask (255.255.0.0). This might take 30 seconds. As soon as the IP is showing, wait another 10 -15 seconds, before trying to connect.

Thank you for your help! Got it to work in the end...now flashed with GTS map

The app is no longer in the App Store, so IDK if that means the version we all have is the last we’re gonna get?!

MDM Flash

What other options are out there for making MDM more Track oriented. Is the Thor Flash out of business?

Just bumping this old thread, but an alternative to code the ghas, dsc and eps is protocol
So if anyone needs a tool to code f87cs parameters (which will not be doable with the old esys launcher pro 2.8.1 which you can find on the forums) then you can use the protool app to do it. This app can code anything esys can, so it's literally a mobile esys.

Here's my review on the app and my guides on how to code the eps, ghas, and dsc:

Yes but depending on what, and I kind of explain it a bit in the coding guides but here is what you can do:

1) EPS: You can code pretty much what the car allows you to code, but I would only stick to cars that share the same power steering rack to avoid any issues. So you probably should stay away from the F8X settings because they are different racks. But if there were others that have tried F8x settings without issue you probably can go that route too.

2) MDM/DSC: You can't code MDM because that was designed for the M cars with the E-Diff, but you can code the DSC to whatever you would like - but try to stick to similarish cars that share the same parts. So pretty much F3x F2x cars. But since you have an m235i you probably already have the best coding possible for this, so I recommend turning on Euro DSC to get more slip angle.

3) GHAS: you can't code this because you don't have an E-DIFF.

The initial post is, in part, about transmission coding. Can you do that with Protool?

Im not too familiar with the dct since I have a 6mt, but if you can code it with esys you can code it with protool.

I’m curious if someone with the THOR DCT tune could read the DCT settings with Protool and then let everyone know the differences vs stock.

Yes you could, protool has an option to read adjusted ECU parameters:

You can see what exactly was changed in the coding of each module by entering coding > Hit the Tools button > Tap on the Manipulated Parameters options and it will tell you each and every option that is not currently at a stock/factory value.

So this is how you'd analyze an ECU for altered coding vs. stock, and since protool can access every single ECU on the car - you would be able to determine what Thor did to your dct. I did ask protool if they could implement a car wide scan at the touch of a button and they did say they'd consider it if they had time. So that would be nice to have in the future.

Very cool. Altho, I don’t have any Android devices here, so someone else with THOR will have to do this.

Yeah, protool is fricken amazing in how it has all these neat capabilities. I wish I knew about this app before wasting my money on bimmer code and bimmer link.

Yeah the draw back is that they don't have ios compatibility. But if you wanted you could get a used Samsung tablet for cheap, I bought a super duper cheap Samsung tab a 8.0 that I use for gauges in my m2. I also got it used so it hasn't lost any resale value either, so if I wanted to sell it back I wouldn't lose any money. I wish I could help you guys out, but I never had thor and I don't have a dct.
