x-ph Carbon Fiber Exhaust Tips

I installed the x-ph Carbon Fiber Exhaust Tips for the M2C tonight and I really love them!

I originally thought that after I removed the stock exhaust tips that I would need to hacksaw the metal pin that holds them to the exhaust. Luckily this was not necessary as the new tips can be pushed right up against them. I backed them off about a 1/2 - 1 inch.

Install was pretty straight forward. Remove the old tips using a piece of wood and a hammer, place the new tips on, and tighten them down with a 14mm wrench.

The quality of them it pretty nice and the laser ///M etching gives them a nice touch. I'm very happy with them!

I picked them up in blue with gold internal piping. I've seen pics after some heat cycles and they turn to a nice purplish gold.

Big thanks to Mike from x-ph who placed my pre-order for these.

Hmm. Looks good but wonder if the gold inserts restrict the exhaust. The M Performance carbon tips have no inserts just an open pipe.

You didn’t see the gold inserts with small holes for the exhaust to escape????

Yes, the MPE tips have the same thing, just not gold.

I got them for 10% off, so about $250 shipped for all 4. Definitely better than the OEM, which cost $250 each!

I just got my tips in as well, I feel like with the nub on the stock exhaust the tips stick out too far... Great quality and look. 👍🏻

You can always get a hacksaw and use a heavy metal blade to remove them. Others have done this to push the tips back. Just a note, they will stick out a little more as the exhaust heats up.

Here is a pic after driving the car for a bit. They probably expanded another 1/2 - 3/4".

Do these only fit the stock exhaust or will they fit the MPE as well? My MPE Carbon tips are starting to look a bit faded, these look arguably better and a full set of these is the price of one MPE tip lol

EDIT: Asking for an OG N55 M2, with MPE

Swapped out to some new XPH CF exhaust tips...much improved and I'm impressed with the quality! No flaws that I could see.

These look pretty nice. Just a shame on the set screw being so easily visible (assuming that's the case from the photo).
In reality are they very obvious to note?

I understand for the genuine revised carbon tips for the M2C, they've put the set screw higher and on an angle so they can't be seen so easily. Would be good if the replicas followed suit!

Yes the only unfortunate thing is the clamp that can be seen from the very bottom or far away at the side...you don't typically see the clamp though.

The OE CF Tips are 1200 a set and they don't have a clamp iirc...judging from the photos, they look press fit like the stock ones and there appears to be a small allen key set screw on them. If they could do away with the clamp visually, I agree it would be darn near perfect.

The revised OEM M performance carbon tips I was referring to were as the link:
https://www.getbmwparts.com/oem-part...ps-18302456072

Not sure on the history on why the carbon tips were revised to the clamp style - possibly because of the rattling issue with the original carbon tips? I've even read some of the original carbon tips falling off as they weren't securely very well with that one allen key screw.

Yes would be great if the replicas can start to copy the location of the clamp as per the revised OEM tips! Hopefully some factory in China is already onto that!
