For those with 2018 OG LCI, be happy. Our cars were only built for one year.

Sort your fueling out and go stage 2 turbo.
There is your 500 whp....which when all said and done might be cheaper then dumping the current one and going for the other. Engine is fine...we have the strongest/best variant of the N55...M division did show it some love. Turbo is the problem |

Otherwise, I'm not telling you anything you don't already know but you flat out bought the wrong car. You're talking about top-end power and all the competition you're facing, which I assume you're actually facing on a track somewhere and not just in daydreams on your couch. The speed limits there in NY aren't any higher than they are here in AZ, so this must be a track performance issue for you. And everything that you're unhappy about is also well-covered here on the forum. The M2 is a great car, but not a perfect car, it has limitations and all of them have been detailed here for literally years. You just bought the wrong car. But this is fixable - if you have the affluence to afford this car (and you didn't overextend and do something you shouldn't have done), then you have the affluence to upgrade. Go upgrade to the M2C and be happy. Life is too short to be as unhappy as you are with a car most people would consider themselves lucky to own. |

Both are great cars, if you buying now then obviously go for M2C..
As for people that already have OG M2 or LCI, I had a thought about it but decided no point changing to M2C for the following reasons.. *Won't feel like a getting into a brand new car, since everything is pretty much the same. *Changeover price is quite a bit and seems like a waste unless you have to have the M2C for whatever reason. *The last N55 ever used on a BMW sound is just so nice even with factory exhaust, love the pure echo and tone it makes. *Having seeing the next generation of BMW interiors like the Z4, really make our M2 or M2C look old. I would prefer the new interior since that's the place we spend most of time in. *Depreciation is all the same with M2 or M2C, already seeing local dealers doing deals on the M2C. So loosing money changing from M2 to M2C and then loose more money as the M2C depreciates. I would rather save up more and go for something totally new and fresh like a Porsche of some sort |

I got a pre lci exactly because of the interior. Last chance to have the classic dials. Plus the symmetry of the lci dash is just plain wrong.

I appreciate the M2C, but I don't like the way it sounds. I wish for a bit more out of the M2 high end HP wise, but I also recognize the gem that is it.

Knew the power and capabilities when I bought my LCI M2. Plenty of data out there so there's no excuse not to know.
Knew the M2C was coming and I'm still happy with it. Know there will be something coming after the M2C. Could wait forever for the 'best', or enjoy today. Don't think I would turn down an M2C but I couldn't be happier with my LCI M2. It has met or surpassed all my expectations. Great car. |

I've owned a 1M,M3 and now the 18 M2. I've never found any of them fast but the M2 is the quickest. I just love the overall feel of all the M cars I've had. My Zo6 was savage fast but I still prefer the overall feeling I get with M cars. I'm also not a guy that's obsessed with making cars faster nor have I ever tracked mine. I guess it depends on what your driving styles are I guess. With regards to resale?! I agree! Here in Canada, Ontario specifically, they're basically giving them away. The 2018 I picked up for $56k + just the tax with 3900kms and only 6 months old originally sold for a tick under 90K. It scares the shit out of me looking back to 2016 when I backed out of a M2 that was way more than my 18. I've never seen the prices so low and the inventory of M cars here so high. It's levelling out now bc this has been going on for about 5 months now. I hope you find a way to enjoy your car and I know the feeling and it stressed me out so much that my wife was like "just sell the car I can't listen to this anymore". Boom $12,000 lost fml. |

I've owned 2 S55 M3's over the last few years (a '16 and an '18 M3 CP that I still have). While they are a blast to drive, I don't have much good to say about how the S55 sounds. It's just not pleasant, and there's really no way to fix it. The S55 sounds better in the M2C, but that's only because you can't fall off the floor. A big part of the driving experience is how the car sounds. The N55 sounds much, much better.

I'd say love the car you have (I have, and will have my OG M2 for a long time in the foreseeable future), not the car you `had` (regret after selling).
There will always be better, faster, more advanced cars. The OG M2 is so well balanced that I don't need anything better (faster). If I need more fun, I'd get a used manual Toyota 86 GTS, use it as a toy and project car to work on.

Not arguing about your points, but you don't have to fix those items on the M2
