Nope not salty at all.
There's always going to be the next, improved model. Love what you have and enjoy it. I drove an M2C, it sounds better than other S55 cars but still no comparison to OG sounds. I didn't feel power was worth the premium. OG exterior wins. Plus, I enjoy a slightly worn BMW to a new one. |

Actually the M2C allowed me to get the deal I wanted on my 2018 LCI. I went to pick up my 328i from service and had worked numbers a few days earlier on an M2. In the Service Drive was a new 2019 M2C still in the plastic wrap. I found my salesman and asked him how bad he wanted to get rid of that leftover 18. no regrets especially for the deal I got.

There are times when i am salty for specific items in the M2 but I'm part of the first wave of owners in 2016
Everything else - all that muck about S55 engine for minor gains which you won't even feel as much on the road while realizing that your car sounds like a lawnmower instead of a typically BMW Sound. I'm cool. not worth it. I'm actually also mad that I didn't grab OG M2 when I had a chance from the DMV |

M2C is undoubtedly an improvement.
However not so much of an improvement that any OG owner needs to get insecure about. |

I consciously bought the last available, no-options '18 LCI in July knowing the M2C would be readily available soon after.
Different strokes for different folks, but the M2 LCI ticks a lot more boxes for me. |

Exactly what I did...we test drove a 2018 M2 and M3 back to back, knowing the 2019 M2's would have the S55. The connection I had with the M2 was immediate and knew I wanted an LCI. The hunt was on and found one 200 miles away from home spec'd out how I wanted it with no test drive miles on her.

For perspective, I was about to pull the trigger on an OG back in March, but held off, pending the M2C.
I still don't have either and am undecided which way I want to go. I can wait until next year and do ED on an M2C, but I may just get an OG instead. For me as a neutral observer, I see it this way: Advantages of M2C: I can get it new and take advantage of ED: front parking sensors; M buttons; more power, but it isn't usable except on the track, and I don't track. Disadvantages of M2C: Once that S55 goes out of warranty, repair costs on that engine are going to be insane, Less-than-ideal sound; don't like the color selection. Advantages of OG: As much usable power as I would need as a daily driver, especially with a few mods and tune; Comes in MGM; GLorious sound (no aftermarket exhaust that can be made will ever be able to make the S55 sound as good as the N55). Differences I couldn't care less about: mirrors (really - who gives a shit about mirrors?); tunability of S55 - I'm looking for a daily driver that will probably never see a track (and like I said above, wait until something goes bad on that engine out of warranty and you have to have it repaired); seats (M2 seats are just fine) Anyway, so I'm on the fence.

I just had a chance to buy an M2C. I passed after hearing the exhaust and seeing that terrible rear muffler. Inside the car, the dash is 100% like my LCI dash. So from a drivers view the cars look the same. They should have done something to make the dash look different.
I liked the M2C seats but they don't offer more comfort then the M2 seats. And with tax the cost to upgrade was going to be about $20K. It sure wasn't worth it to me. |

i knew there was going to be a thread like this here lol..
i got the white m2 last week for 5k off and the same dealership has 2 white m2c marked up 8 and 10k is the m2c worth 15k over the m2? not really especially given the way they spec'd my m2 in white with all the black trim pieces already installed and the carbon wing.. and to be honest after looking at the m2c in person the first thing i would need to do is buy an exhaust or go straight pipe because that muffler is such an eye sore from the rear |

I agree regarding not "needing" an S55, but they should have dropped it in the LCI this year. You guys may not realize this but most people on the road looking at an M2 can't even tell it's not a 328i until you put the skinny pedal down ... I kind of like that my car is stealthier than say, a low slung Cayman S or a WRX STI with all the plastic stick 'ems all over it |

True but now if CSL comes out . OG takes a hit
I drove the m2 comp stock... deff needs an aftermarket exhaust Power felt same maybe little less then my m2 with mods But upper rooms it felt a nice spill Steering felt heavier in front But overall slight improvement If I were to get it I’d wait a year or two and just trade for one that is lightly moddded cus that would take a hit two Oh m2 deff sounds better and feels lighter, people saying to do port injection but that’s about the 3 racks |

If u guys worried about a car taking a hit, get a Subaru. Our OG M2 now is special in its own right. Nothing but praises from fans and owners when it came out and up until competition. Lots of looks just driving around here in SoCal, much more from more rural places. It is already up to par with the M3/M4 in different tracks. S55 is great but N55 M tuned is too. My opinion is if you have an OG M2, an up and coming M3/M4 should be the next upgrade. Just because something is new it’s just not better in every way. If you are first time M2 buyer and u have the money go for it. But OG M2 is best value in M territory.
