340i engine and power output posted - similar database entry for M2?
Don't you think it's likely that this same system has some F87 entries in it:

So roughly 322 hp assuming that listing is in kW. Makes sense. I do wonder if the M2 values are listed yet. I assume we would know them by now if they were in there.

I think this is an interesting question, but is more specific to the (M)240i - I mean, what amount of BHP is that going to have?
340/440i - 321 BHP stock M235i - 321 BHP M240i - 340 BHP? M2 - 365/370 BHP? BMW has a lot of cars that are similar in BHP, but very different in personality - it will be fun to see how they position everything within the lineup.

I guess one question to ask is ... what system is this? And who has access to it?
Then is the car listed a prototype or is it an early-production/press car? If it's a press car then perhaps there would be no M240i or M2 entries quite yet but this may be a good place to source that info closer to release time. Also, there are apparently some photos out there that show M2 prototype VIN numbers, I wonder if someone could search this system using those? Does anyone know where the photos are at?

That's why I couldn't help but roll my eyes when people are saying detuned S55 or S58 (whatever the hell that would even be).

The 135is had 240kw and 450nm rated. (normal 225kw and 400nm now with BMW ppk2 slapped on it) The 1M had 250kw and 500nm (with overboost function) The m235i had 15kw more than the 335i/435i yes. You are correct there. What was said by bim2mer is actually correct considering regarding the m235i and the 135i M-Sport. Same thing that, only M Sport was an Option on the 135i which only gave you a different roof lining, steering wheel and gear knob (manual) to the normal exclusive 135i. So basically, you are basically pretty wrong. Basically. Understand? Basically. Understood. I agree, I doubt the 240i will have more power (rated). Hell its listed there, in KW right next to 'power'. 240. Which is what the m235i currently has. Should be the same as the 340i listed above. |
